英文書信的格式
1、 信頭（heading）
指發(fā)信人的姓名（單位名稱）、地址和日期，一般寫在信紙的右上角。一般公函或商業(yè)信函的信紙上都印有單位或公司的名稱、地址、電話號碼等，因此就只需在信頭下面的右邊寫上寫信日期就可以了。
2、 日期的寫法：
如：1997年7月30日，英文為：july 30，1997（最為普遍）； july 30th，1997； 30th july，1997等。
3、 信內(nèi)地址（inside address）：
在一般的社交信中，信內(nèi)收信人的地址通常省略，但是在公務(wù)信函中不能。
4、 稱呼（salutation）：
是寫信人對收信人的稱呼用語。
（1）寫給親人、親戚和關(guān)系密切的朋友時(shí)，用dear或my dear再加上表示親屬關(guān)系的稱呼或直稱其名（這里指名字，不是姓氏）。
（2）寫給公務(wù)上的信函用dear madam，dear sir或gentleman（gentlemen）。注意：dear純屬公務(wù)上往來的客氣形式。
（3）寫給收信人的信，也可用頭銜、職位、職稱、學(xué)位等再加姓氏或姓氏和名字。
5、 正文（body of the letter）：
位置在下面稱呼語隔一行，是信的核心部分。
同的是，正文中一般不用hello�。愫茫。┱挠锌s進(jìn)式和齊頭式兩種。每段書信第一行的第一個(gè)字母稍微向右縮進(jìn)些，通常以五個(gè)字母為宜，每段第二行從左面頂格寫起，這就是縮進(jìn)式。但美國人寫信各段落往往不用縮進(jìn)式，用齊頭式，即每一行都從左面頂格寫起。 在正文下面的一、二行處，從信紙的中間偏右處開始，第一個(gè)詞開頭要大寫，句末用逗號。
（1）寫給家人、親戚，用your loving grandfather，lovingly yours，lovingly等；
（2）寫給熟人、朋友，用yours cordially，yours affectionately等；
（3）寫業(yè)務(wù)信函用truly yours（yours truly），faithfully yours（yours faithfully）等；
7、 簽名（signature） ：
低于結(jié)束語一至二行，從信紙中間偏右的地方開始，在結(jié)束語的正下方，在簽完名字的下面還要有用打字機(jī)打出的名字，以便識別。職務(wù)、職稱可打在名字的下面。
8、 附言（postscript） ：
一封信寫完了，突然又想起遺漏的事情，這時(shí)用p.s.表示，再寫上遺漏的話即可，要長話短說。通常在信末簽名下面幾行的左方，應(yīng)于正文齊頭。
9、 附件（enclosure） ：
信件如果有附件，可在信紙的左下角，注上encl：或enc：
例如：encl：2 photos（內(nèi)附兩張照片）。
我們有時(shí)可看到在稱呼與正文之間有re：或subject：（事由）字樣。一般在信紙的中間，也可與“稱呼”對齊。還應(yīng)在底下加橫線，以引起讀信人的注意，使收信人便于在讀信之前就可了解信中的主要內(nèi)容。

General Introduction
I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.
Education background
In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.
At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of

Research experience and academic activity
When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.
In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA

篇八：英語創(chuàng)新大賽往屆經(jīng)驗(yàn)
我是上一屆的獲獎(jiǎng)?wù)摺Ｎ揖褪瞧胀ǜ咧兴铰憧嫉�，呵呵。去年這個(gè)時(shí)候我和你想的一樣。其實(shí)后來才發(fā)覺真的不用這么緊張。比我想象得容易。聽力所有材料只讀一遍，要集中精力。沒完全聽懂沒關(guān)系，只要聽出關(guān)鍵詞就差不多了。語速和你平時(shí)練的聽力差不多，就是最后幾個(gè)題材料很長，有點(diǎn)學(xué)術(shù)。選了以后盡量別改。口語是機(jī)考，10秒準(zhǔn)備，60秒自我介紹。然后再30秒準(zhǔn)備，90秒話題陳述。話題陳述題目隨機(jī)，會(huì)包括5-6個(gè)問題，要快審題，因?yàn)榈褂?jì)時(shí)90秒的時(shí)候就看不見問題了，憑記憶。我記得我當(dāng)時(shí)就把所有問題都踩點(diǎn)似的答一遍時(shí)間就到了……能把話說得比較順，讓別人聽得懂你想表達(dá)什么意思就行了，不用像演講一樣。
還有作文。我當(dāng)時(shí)用的專業(yè)八級寫作輔導(dǎo)，但我覺得最有用的是官方網(wǎng)站上的范文。雖然碰不到原題，但是結(jié)合點(diǎn)評，有很多方向性的指導(dǎo)。背高考作文是有用的。我的單詞量也是課本水平，我沒有刻意擴(kuò)詞匯量，只是在自己已有的基礎(chǔ)上作了句式的提高。最好在背高考作文的基礎(chǔ)上高于高考作文。準(zhǔn)備幾句名人名言以充實(shí)文章內(nèi)容。
