When I saw the titile of this essay I am supposed to be writing about, all I felt were its broadness and abstractness. Though I am a Chinese myself, it had always seemed complicated to tell how much exactly my nationality meant to me until that unforgettable experience in the Chinese Embassy at the U.K, which made a significant difference to my life. Only when I was abroad did I realize how proud I always was for my great country and clarify the relationship between China and me, referring it to that between a mother and a child desperate for help.
It was in the London Heathrow International Airport that our passports and airplane tickets were stolen a few minutes before the plane took off. Despaired and tired as we were, we wandered on the flourishing streets of London and felt isolated from all the nearby lighthearted laughters. It didn't take a long time for the lingering homesickness hit us and reminded us of the Chinese Embassy at the U.K that might be our sheet anchor. Ages passed while we walked to the embassy, suffering from hunger and helplessness with every step we took. Sure enough, our eyes were unconsciously filled with tears when we finally reached the spot. I was taken by surprise when the brightly-colored Chinese national flag broke through the darkness and appeared once again in front of my eyes, recalling all the pleasure I had at home. It suddenly felt as if I was taken home, a home where all my fear and anxiety vanished and replaced by the hope and warmth that ran all over my body to cheer me up. The ambassadors were all amiable Chinese officers and the familiar Chinese accent drew me closer to my motherland where we received the only help. The ambassadors made us noodles in the familiar Chinese way and settled the accommodation for us. I had tears running down my cheeks when the hot noodles, smelled as pleasant as my mother's at home, filled my stiff empty stomach because I knew I was safe in the arms of my compatriots and there was no need to be worried anymore for I knew I was home.
We successfully returned to Beijing the next day and I still couldn't forget the moment when I felt so much closer to my motherland than any other time given, as though our hearts were beating in one melody. Had my motherland not saved the day, we would never came back home so quickly without any restriction. For that one brief second when I was handed the brand new passport with a Chinese flag printed on it, my heart was overflowed with the pride for my own nation because never has a country I known connected to its people so close as the way my motherland and us related. I was like a child, crying and desperate for help while my mother China is the harbor to hold me, this small vulnerable boat. Even though I was out of home, my motherland remained inseparated from me no matter how far I go and is always there to help me back on track whenever in need. I wish you a happy birthday, China. I am so proud of you not only because of your obvious amazing pace in economical development, but also due to the relieved and warm way I felt when I was abroad and enjoyed your ray of love shone on my body and heart. You are the spirits dancing in my blood, the strength holding up my body and and essence making up my soul. I am so honored as a Chinese, a member of this dynamic and loving country. 本學(xué)期學(xué)校采用了新的教材，是譯林出版社的牛津小學(xué)英語，每學(xué)期上完一本。此冊書共有10個(gè)單元，每個(gè)單元分三個(gè)部分，分別要求聽，認(rèn)，說。從難度上來說，此教材比去年學(xué)校采用的外研社版要簡單很多，詞匯量少，句型簡單，這大大減輕了孩子們學(xué)習(xí)的壓力，同時(shí)也減少了家長輔導(dǎo)的難度。教材遵循由淺入深，由易入難的規(guī)律，所選內(nèi)容均是與學(xué)生平時(shí)日常生活有關(guān)，可以密接結(jié)合平時(shí)的生活經(jīng)歷，切實(shí)做到了理論與實(shí)踐結(jié)合，讓孩子在現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中也能有機(jī)會(huì)鍛煉英語口語。
四、良好學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣的培養(yǎng)
重視孩子朗讀作業(yè)的完成。英語學(xué)習(xí)的初級階段，一般書寫作業(yè)較少，大多是一些朗讀的`作業(yè)。朗讀作業(yè)同樣非常重要，完成時(shí)一定要讓孩子大聲的朗讀給您聽，哪怕您沒時(shí)間，邊做家務(wù)邊聽，也要讓孩子讀給您聽，老師要求讀幾遍，就必須完成幾遍，當(dāng)然，這個(gè)幾遍只是一般意義上的，()也就是老師感覺讀這幾遍孩子能記住，能記牢。如果您的孩子不能完全掌握，還可以多讀幾遍，以孩子能記準(zhǔn)記牢為標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。讀完后家長簽字，要具體簽上讀了幾遍，是否讀熟。
五、樹立家校通力合作，教育才能達(dá)到最佳效果的觀念

He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car.

Countless private cars on the street the gas stations are short of gasoline even the government has raise the price so many times in order to control the needs of gasoline but it’s still not working. Overusing the natural resources has already affected the ecological balance. However the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of protecting the environment. I think it’s time for all of us to do something.

The government should put forward some more strict laws to prevent the environment from being further polluted. And they should let people know more about the importance of environment protection. And we should find the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. Plant more trees in the deserts and stop cutting down the forest. Forbid the factories to pour the waste water into the rivers directly. Encourage people to use public transportations to work. Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way our earth could be a better place to live in.

二、讓孩子多聽錄音，在少兒英語學(xué)習(xí)中，我認(rèn)為首先是加強(qiáng)聽力訓(xùn)練和說話訓(xùn)練，然后才是讀寫能力的培養(yǎng)。聽說能力差，用英語進(jìn)行交際的能力也會(huì)差，為此，作為家長一定要配合學(xué)校來要求孩子，要?jiǎng)?chuàng)造條件讓孩子多聽，多聽純正的錄音，聽幾遍、聽清楚了以后，跟著說。
三、讓孩子大聲說英語，我每天都堅(jiān)持留出20分鐘左右時(shí)間讓孩子讀讀英語，不管當(dāng)天學(xué)校布置的作業(yè)多不多。我們要鼓勵(lì)孩子大聲地朗讀、對話、問答，大聲說，不害羞，這樣有利于清楚地表達(dá)自己，也有利于他人糾正自己的錯(cuò)誤。
四、每天自覺地聽錄音、朗讀、背誦、記憶，孩子放學(xué)后完成的作業(yè)，我都會(huì)檢查督促。聽寫、默寫、抄寫的作業(yè)，復(fù)習(xí)、預(yù)習(xí)作業(yè)也不容草率。每一項(xiàng)作業(yè)我都會(huì)認(rèn)真檢查，并簽字。復(fù)習(xí)是鞏固知識，預(yù)習(xí)對于下一次老師要講的內(nèi)容心里有了大概的眉目，能起到抓到重點(diǎn)的作用，提高學(xué)習(xí)效率。
五、家長要經(jīng)常積極主動(dòng)的和老師溝通，通過和老師的溝通既可以及時(shí)了解自己孩子在學(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)情況，能夠有針對性地要求孩子鞏固學(xué)得不夠扎實(shí)的知識，也可以了解孩子在學(xué)校的行為習(xí)慣方面的情況。畢竟我們在家里看到的孩子只在在家里的一面，在學(xué)校的表現(xiàn)我們是看得不全面的。

home milk delivery has almost gone extinct in china now, also gone with it are the milkmen, who once delivered bottled fresh milk door-to-door. on the other hand, mailman's business or the courier service has thrived as online shopping gains popularity. however, in retrospect, i find something has been lost in this transition, something shakespeare called as "the milk of human kindness"。
when i was a kid, milk wasn't for sale everywhere. for the families who need it, they depended on the milkmen to take it from the local dairy farms to their houses. in our neighborhood, there was such a milkman, whose arrival was much anticipated by the children and always brought us laughter and joy. he knew the name of every kid and could easily see through our tricks. if we didn't behave, he would side with our parents and threaten to rob us of the nutritious drink. the entire neighborhood was acquainted with him; saw him as a member of the community just like the many residents or street vendors. there was a bond between all of us for it was not only the commodities that been transacted, but also a sense of caring and dependability. and that small box fixed onto our door, other than being a drop-off point for milk; it was a communication junction between the people as we took the initiative to reach out to others.
fast forward to today, milk is ubiquitous with no dedicated delivery system. but the convenience level of our live has gone up a notch. almost everything is for sale online, which spares us all the travelling and talking. with a few ready clicks, shopping is done. the rest is left for those speed delivery companies. usually it's a grumpy mailman, who reaches us throuugh cell phone, urging everyone to pick up their parcels as soon as possible. and the minute the receipt is signed, we rush back to unpack while the courier dashes to the next destination. there is barely a conversation carried out, nor do we feel the need to talk to such a stranger, who changes from time to time frequently. it seems that people are always in a hurry now, though we have more conveniences, still we run short of time to stop and stare, to speak and share.
call me an old-timer, but i think the personal touch represented by the milkman is what has been missing in the modern society. william wordsworth once wrote that "getting and spending, we lay waste our powers." modern technology may have multiplied our possessions or gave us more conveniences, but we run the risk of reducing our values if we lay waste our power of interpersonal relationships.
