商務(wù)英語一班 尹星辰 BC11180129 Smile
Ladies and Gentlemen, good afternoon! Today, my topic is smile. First of all, I want to ask you some questions. Just think it.
Whit is smile?
What your attitude towards it?
Why should we smile?
In my opinion, smile is a kind of art. Smile is also a kind of language which cannot be heard by anyone, but persons always know its meaning. When you meet your friends in the morning, smile means “Good morning!” When you fail, the friend’s smile means “Have another try!” So when you smile, although you don’t say any word, you can understand each other.
When you need some help, you should say: “Excuse me.” At the same time, if you show your unhappy face, he will be unhappy too. How can you get the help while he has no pleasure? So if you smile, you will get his help.
Then, for this question why should we smile, there are several reasons for keeping smile. For example, the first one is smiling can change our mood. One day, I feel down. Walking on the road dejectedlyin low spirits, I came across someone. A slight smile is on her face. Maybe she did not know me. However, I saw sincerity and hope in her eyes. The corner of her mouth tilted up, and her smile affect me. Finally, I give a smile to her then. And there is sincerity. This moment, I know there is nothing more beautiful than a smile that struggles through tears. We should learn to use your smile to change the world. Do not let the world change your smile.
The second one is smiling can make you seem successful. (Smiling people appear more confident, are more likely to be promoted, and more likely to be approached. Put on a smile at meeting and appointments and people will react to you differently.) I once read a story. A salesman tried his best to sale things but always failed before. Then he learned how to smile. He smiled all the time and others felt he was so kind and his smile was so attractive that they all wanted to buy his things. Finally, the man became successful.
The third one is that smiling can make us happy and relaxed when we are sad or stressed. When you smile, the world in your eyes is better. For others, smile can make others feel comfortable and relaxed and they will like you.
A saying goes: “l(fā)ife is a mirror, if you smile to it, it will smile to you.”
Give losers a smile that is encouragement; Give the sad one a smile that is comfortable; Give a smile that the weakness is courage; Give a smile that the happiness is shared.
So no matter you are happy or sad, do it now. The power of a smile is large. It can make all of us feel happy including yourself. Smile to the world, to others and to everything.
Thank you!

let me begin my speech with a replay of scenes familiar to most, if not all, of those present here today. "mum, i’m sorry, but i need 3,000 yuan for my tuition this year." "mum, it is my friend’s birthday tomorrow, i must buy her a present." "mum, this jacket was out of fashion long ago, would you do me a favor? "
take. take. take. the relationship between a mother and a child always seems to follow such a pattern. i know my mother is always there for me, providing me with everything i need; from food to clothing, from tuition to pocket money. i never thought twice about all she did until one day she said, "will there be a time that you’ll say you have taken enough from me? "
like a child endlessly asking, we humans, throughout history, have been continually demanding what we desire from nature. we enjoy the comfort and beauty of our furniture, yet we never bother to think about the serious soil erosion caused by deforestation. we take it for granted that we must warm ourselves in winter times, yet we seldom realize the burning away of precious natural resources. we appreciate all the prosperity from the development of modern industry, yet few would give the slightest consideration to the global air and water pollution caused by industrial wastes. our ruthless exploitation has permanently impaired our mother earth. as we tragically learned from last summer’s floods. we cannot continue our carelessness.
finally, standing here at the threshold of the 21st century, we cannot help thinking of our posterity. nature is not only the mother of the present generation, but also the mother of the generations to come. how severely our descendents will criticize us if we leave them a barren and lifeless mother? how much more they will appreciate us if we give them a world of harmony to inherit? let us start respecting and caring for nature from now on. let us start the campaign of creating a mutually beneficial relationship between people and nature right from this moment.
with this new start, i firmly believe, that our children, and our children’s children will live in a brand new age of green trees, clean air, crystal water, blue sky and an even more promising world!

Over the past Spring Festival, I got involved in a family dispute. Right before I got home, four satellite channels of CCTV were added to the 14 channels we had already had. In prime time at night, they all had interesting shows. Therefore, the five of us-my parents, my sisters and I-had to argue over what to watch. Finally, we agreed that we should watch the "most interesting" program... If wecould agree what that was.
However, all of us there remember that for a long time after we had TV, there were only one or two channels available. The increase in options reveals an important change in our life: the abundance of choice.
Fifteen years ago we all dressed in one style and in one color. Today, we select from a wide variety of designs and shades.
Fifteen years ago, we read few newspapers. Today, we read English
newspapers like the China Daily and the 21st Century, as well as various Chinese newspapers.
Fifteen years ago, English majors took only courses in language and literature. Today, we also study Western culture, journalism, business communications, international relations, and computer science.
The emergence of choices marks the beginning of a new era in China's history; an era of diversity, of material and cultural richness, and an era of the rebirth of the Chinese nation.
We enjoy the abundance of choice. But this has not come easily.
About 150 years ago, China was forced to open up its door by Western canons and gunboats. It has been through the struggle and sacrifice of generations that we finally have gained the opportunity to choose for ourselves. The policy of reform and openness is the choice that has made all the difference.
Like others of my age, I'm too young to have experienced the time when the Chinese people had no right to choose. However, as the next century draws near, it is time to ask: What does choice really mean to us young people?
Is choice a game that relies on chance or luck? Is choice an empty promise that never materializes? Or is choice a puzzle so difficult that we have to avoid it?
First, I would like to say: To choose means to claim opportunities. I am a third-year English major. An important choice for me, of course, is what to do upon graduation. I can go to graduate school, at home or abroad. I can go to work as a teacher, a translator, a journalist, an editor and a diplomat. Actually, the system of mutual selection has allowed me to approach almost every career opportunity in China.
Indeed, this is not going to be an easy choice. I would love to work in such big cities as Beijing or Shanghai or Shenzhen. I would also love to return to my hometown, which is intimate, though slightly lagging in development. I would love to stay in the coastal area where life is exciting and fast-paced. I would also love to put down roots in central and western China, which is underdeveloped, but holdsgreat potential.
All of these sound good. But they are only possibilities. To those of us who are bewildered at the abundance of opportunities, I would like to say: To choose means to accept challenge.
To us young people, challenge often emerges in the form of competition. In the next century, competition will not only come from other college graduates, but also from people of all ages and of all origins. With increasing international exchanges, we have to face growing competition from the whole outside world. This is calling for a higher level of our personal development.
Fifteen years ago, the knowledge of a foreign language or of computer operation was considered merely an advantage. But today, with wider educational opportunities, this same knowledge has become essential to everyone.
Given this situation, even our smallest choices will require great wisdom and personal determination.
As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.
As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.
Nuclear power, for instance, may improve our quality of life. But it can also be used to damage the lives and possessions of millions.
Economic development has enriched our lives but brought with it serious harm to our air, water and health.
To those of us who are blind to the consequences of their choices, I would like to say, To choose means to take responsibility. When we are making choices for ourselves, we cannot casually say: "It's just my own business. " As policy makers of the next century, we cannot fail to see our responsibility to those who share the earth with us.
The traditional Chinese culture teaches us to study hard and work hard so as to honor our family. To me, however, this family is not just the five of us who quarreled over television programs. Rather, it is the whole of the human family. As I am making my choices, I will not forget the smile of my teacher when I correctly spelled out the word "China" for the first time, I will not forget the happy faces of the boys and girls we helped to send back to school in the mountains of Jiangxi Province. I will not forget the tearful eyes of women and children in Bosnia, Chechnya and Somali, where millions are suffering from war, famine or poverty. All these people, known and unknown, make up our big human family. At different points, they came into my life and broaden my perspective. Now as I am to make choices for myself, it is time to make efforts to improve their lives, because a world will benefit us all only if every one in it
can lead a peaceful and prosperous life.

You won't be surprised to find many students sleep in class today, especially in the math class. When the class is over, we can see many people wake up all together.
Many of them say that they actually don't want to dream in class at all as it's such a shameful thing to dribble when the teacher is solving an equation.
In fact, students always fall asleep unconsciously.
Some of the students maybe go to bed late, but I think they could still stay active if the teacher chooses to interact rather than keep cramming only. Now the schedule in our university is so tough that there's always too much to learn in a single class. There's no time to take a deep thinking, no chance to communicate, no need to take notes since there're sides to download. Then what to do in a 2-hour-class? Listen to the teacher without thinking, students will soon begin daydreaming.

what is the biggest effect of the internet.
no invention has received more praise and abuse than internet .
there is no doubt that we can do the things that for us may be difficult or even impossible in the past with the help of internet . we can communicate with the friends we have lost touch with for many years by the internet
i enjoy go on line ,for i can do whatever i like ,such as talking with my friends, chatting with my teacher and also listenning some music.however, what i like most is to read electrical magzine or watch some english films.i can also know the lastest news about the world instently. as i am a student ,i do not have much time surffing the internet..
but i will go on line in the weekend if i have finished my homework .my parents agree with me.in fact they always support me on everything i like i believe that people equate succein life with the ability of operating computer.it is generally accepted that no college or university can educate its students by the time they graduate,so may be computer skills will enchance our job opportunities or promotion..
however ,some believe that it is a terrible invention, because their kids are clinging to the net games and even crime as a result of the bad effect. what is more, some girls are cheated by people through internet.
some parents do not allow their kids to surf ,they think that it will have a negative effect on kids. i agree with the old saying "no work and no play make jack a dull boy". so we have to face the internet fairly. every thing has two sides,we should learn to use it correctly. first ,we should learn the common sense of safety.before we do every thing,we should think twice.it will help us always.then,we should try to protect ourselves.i think we had better not chat with some strangers.the most important thing is that we must not leave out our addreand some information about us and our familly.
in all,we should know to master it in a right way.this is also the reason why everyone can not be bill gates.

ladies and gentlemen,
i have had a lot of teachers in my school who have given me much help in my study. for their help i will never forget them. but today i am going to talk about a special teacher of mine. this teacher is not a human being and its name is“computer”. it has been teaching me a lot of knowledge and i appreciate it very much.
with the development of modern science and technology, computers are widely used in every teritories including education. how can a computer be my teacher? how does a computer teach me? multimedia helps a lot in this aspect in recent years, and computer-based training has become a popular educational medium . even before the multimedia come up, many different learning systems appeared, using the components and techniques we now associate with the term “multimedia”. multimedia components, such as graphics , animations , sound and video, make the learning process easier through visualization. animations can present many complex subjects dynamically, but human teachers can not do this on blackboards. multimedia makes our study more lively and interesting. for example, a cd-rom disk named “encarta encyclopedia” contains 650 mb information including images, graphics, music clips, video clips, animations , texts, hotwords, and database search functions. fields involved includes physical
sciences, performance arts, social sciences, politics, military, education and so on. when pressing a button, i can hear american president clinton's speech clip. i may enjoy playing all kinds of musical instruments in the world. i can also see the animation of many physical phenomena. this makes physical concept to be understood deeply . the audio features of multimedia can greatly help me learning foreign languages. with its speech output capabilities, i'm no longer dependent on an instructor for proper pronunciation.
how can i interact with a computer? there are many ways, including keyboard, mouse pointer, and touch screen. i often use a keyboard. when i press right keys, i can see and hear whatever i want. information world is at my fingertip. i wish that true speech input-output system would be invented one day.
as teachers, computers have a lot of virtues:they are positive, they have good memories and never lose any information stored in them. they have much knowledge in every field. they can let out all kinds of sounds, and can also improve the efficiency of our study. for example, if i want to, i can skip some chapters so that i can study at my own pace.
although computers will never take the place of human teachers, they are welcomed by more and more learners. computers will continue to evolve with the aid of modern technologies. computers are so powerful, helpful and important that everybody needs it, especially in the future! i love my computer teacher!
thank you.

i've had an interesting experience. i'm an entrepreneur, having started my own business, also worked in the context of a family business that was highly entrepreneurial.i've had both, working in a large family business, that grew to be arather large business. i think for me, one of the challenges wasmanaging the competing demands of raising a family and, and running a business, working in a family business. and then politics got layered on top of that. then i got pregnant with my thirdchild in the midst of that. one of the things, there is no right answer. people ask about balance a lot. i don't think you can plan for balance. you can structure your schedule to avoid worktravel, coming home and having an event or you have to be can manage things like that. we are one kid illness away from losing balance. there's no way you can plan for certain things. i have found every time i think a challenge is large and will behard to overcome that has been put in my path, if you grindthrough it, you look back in retrospect and it feels much more manageable than it was in the moment. this perspective, staying in the moment, keeping a laser focus on what your priorities are. i tell people not to architect their life for balance, but aligned with what their priorities are. and fully measure yourself againstpriorities to ensure you are where you needed to be in the long term. give yourself a little slack in the short term. i will say as anadministration, we are focused on thinking about how weempower the american working family and empower people to achieve a balance through policies around making child caremore affordable and accessible, advocating strongly for paid family leave. to support the reality of of the dual income modernworking family. thinking through policies that support the family is informed by what i have seen and what i have witnessed.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. chuzhongchusan 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon.
He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older.
Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.
Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character. Thank you.

Good morning, everyone! I`m very happy to have this chance to give my presentation. Before I start my speech, please let me ask you a question. Do you think you are confident in yourself? If you are, do please raise your hand.
My topic today is “ to Be a Confident Person.”
What is confidence? Confidence is to trust yourself. Confidence is to look upon yourself. It is not to indulge in self-admiration. It is not to get extremely arrogant. It is not to get dizzy with success or to be opinionated. It is just to inspire yourself ahead of a quality of mind, in high spirit, full of energy. It is to meet the challenges of life in a positive mood. It is to overcome your inferiority, farewell, to get rid of the trouble of a a ready-made panacea.
Remember, I have just entered junior high school. In the face of the challenge of new environment, in the face of so many new courses and learning contents, I lost faith in my own and gradually developed a psychological sense of inferiority. Achievement glided ceaselessly. It is a teacher and mother who encouraged me and let me regain confidence. Gradually, my grades got higher and higher and everything began to go on well. Gradually I adapted to the life in middle school.
Friends, let's say goodbye to inferiority. Let’s be a confident person. Because: only if you have self-confidence, can you control yourself; only if you have confidence, can you achieve success and create your a brilliant life of your own!
優(yōu)秀英語演講稿13
We all come to the world, but why do some of us make great achievements known forever and why are they remembered forever even though they leave the world? And why do some leave the world without anything valuable to his generation and the people? Every one of us will hope to have a significant and valuable life. But what kind of life is both significant and valuable? Answers to the questions are …… "If you cherish your value of your own life, you will create something valuable for the world." Johann Goth said. "The life value should be judged from his contribution rather than his profession." Einstein said. Lei Feng, a communist soldier, said, "one lives to make others a more beautiful life."
As we all know, Marx is an outstanding and great man. He founded his brilliant and scientific theory of communism. The theory guides the ways for the human being's liberation. Marx said, "If we can elect one suitable profession, we won't be demoralized with its pressure, because we make sacrifice for human beings. Only by this way will we not be addicted to the joy of narrow-minded and individualism. Our happiness belongs to thousands upon thousands of people. I see, although it may be unknown, our cause will never be forgot forever. Even when we depart to God, the kind people will tear down upon our ashes." When he said these words, he was only 17 years old. He meant his word with his deeds in his late lifetime period. After his death, on his 100-birthday anniversary, the proletarian and the revolutionary people of the whole world still cherish the memory of Marx and mourn him respectively.
It is his distinguishingable contribution to the mankind that his life is that significant. It is his great devotion to the human being that his life value is beyond measure. We also know that Lu Xun is a man of great. Without his nobility "Fierce-browed, I wooly defy a thousand point fingers, head bowed like a willing ox I serve the children", and without his spirit of his loyalty and devotion to the last for the bright future of the Chinese people, his life would not have been so significant and so great. Actually, didn't those regarded as essence of human who live forever in the hearts of people make great contributions to the cause of the people? Wouldn't the people remember those whose great achievements for human are recorded in history? We know for certain that not every of us will be a second Marx or Lu Xun. However, a person of noble aspirations will do solid work. Struggle
continuously and effortless. He will try to make his greatest contribution in his shortest time. He will try what he can to bring benefit to the people in his lifetime. We'd say it is impossible for one to live alone if he isolates society and people. If he hopes to make a benefit life, he will bring benefit and make contribution to people. As a socialist youth, he will devote his life to the cause of communism in order to make a benefit life. Moreover, we say that a value of life will be only in direct proportion to achievement and contribution he makes to our society. In our real life, we can see many revolutionary martyrs die young for the people. Don't you think they cherish the life? Yes. They do. They are sentimentally attached to life; they are full of hope and desire. But they confront the death bravely and resolutely in order to make many more people live. Their brilliant status will be living in the hearts of people. They die glorious and great.
The life of those who die busy about his lifetime without any achievements can not be compared with their life. In our real life, we have many cases like those. Life is endless and tackling key problems will be continuous. Let's take these as examples. Mr. Jing Zhuying worked for the Chinese science causes to the last of his life. Mr. Zhang Hua sacrificed his own young life for the sake of others, which set a good example of the communist. Mr. An Ke died for fulfillment for the duty as a citizen. Ms Zhang Haiti, compared to be Paul of our time, worked very hard and faced frustrations of her life, though she was disabled. She still continues to live on bravely.
All these are the strong of their life. Their value of life is precious. My fellow students, don't you say what a beautiful life they have? Beethoven once said; "I must learn to control my life which will never make me give myself up. Oh, If only I can live more than thousands times!" Paul Cocking also had a golden saying, "Life is but one." I think every youth of us keep this in our minds. let's turn it into reality with our deeds.
Let's not be a man full of promises but without any deeds, like Lusting, one of the characters by Dougeshefol. My fellow students, let's not wander. Let's not hesitate. Only lament and vexation does not mean consideration and exploration. Only lament and vexation does not mean advancing and does not mean mature at all. Let's not kill our lifetime by playing cards. Let's not waste our youth by drinking. Let's not destroy our will without any achievements. Let's make great contribution to human. And only by these can we create benefit life. Every one will have to die and every body will be rotten. But every one may make achievements and contributions. We hate being rotten. Let's brighten up! Up! And up!

Besides being a witch I also want to be anarchaeologist, an Egyptologist. I want to go to Egypt, to discoverthe beauty of this ancient civilization. I think about it day andnight, I see myself standing beside the pyramid, and working in thedesert with mummies and sarcophagus. Maybe the dream is kind of faraway from me. But I believe that.

e are the world ,we are the future
someone said "we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite". i don't know who wrote these words, but i've always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are all in the position of the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. if we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
we are young. "how to spend the youth" it is a meaningful question. to answer it, first i have to ask "what do you understand by the word youth" youth is not a time of life, it's a state of mind. it's not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. it's the matter of the will. it's the freshneof the deep spring of life.
a poet said "to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. several days ago, i had a chance to listen to a lecture. i learnt a lot there. i'd like to share it with all of you. let's show our right palms. we can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. i have a short line of life.
what about yoursi wondered whether we could see our future in this way. well, let's make a fist. where is our future
where is our love, career, and lifetell me.yeah, it is in our hands. it is held in ourselves.
we all want the future to be better than the past. but the future can go better itself. don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened. from the past, we've learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. we've learnt that we
can't choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. failure doesn't mean you don't have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. failure doesn't mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.
as what i said at the beginning, "we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite". the past has gone. nothing we do will change it. but the future is in front of us. believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. and from today on, let's be the owners of ourselves, and speak out "we are the world, we are the future."
