Ladies and Gentlemen, Good afternoon!
I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. Today my topic is“youth”. I hope you will like it, and found the importance in your youth so thatmore cherish it.
First I want to ask you some questions:
1、Do you know what is youth? 2、How do you master your youth?
Youth
Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind; it is not rosy cheeks ,red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of theappetite, for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We growold by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
Whether 60 of 16, there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game ofliving . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station: solong as it receives messages of beauty, hope ,cheer, courage and power from menand from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicismand the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long asyour aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may dieyoung at 80.
Thank you!

Women who ate soy regularly as children have a lower risk of breast cancer,American researchers report. And men who eat fish several times a week have alower risk of colon cancer, a second team of researchers have told the AmericanAssociation for Cancer Research.
The studies add to a growing body of evidence about the role of diet incancer. Cancer experts now believe that up to two-thirds of all cancers comefrom lifestyle factors such as smoking, diet and lack of exercise.
The US National Cancer Institute and researchers at the University of Hawaiifound that women who ate the most soy-based foods, such as tofu and miso, whenaged 5 to 11, reduced their risk of developing breast cancer by 58 per cent. Itwas not clear how soy might prevent cancer, though compounds in soy calledisoflavones have estrogen-like effects.
A second study showed that men who ate fish at least five times a week had a40 per cent lower risk of developing colorectal cancer compared with men who atefish less than once a week.
Many kinds of fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which interfere with thecyclooxygenase-2 or COX-2 enzyme. COX-2 affects inflammation, which may play arole in tumour growth.

Most people would like to be popular with others, but not everyone canachieve this goal. What is the secret to popularity? In fact, it is very simple. The first step is to improve our appearance. We should always make sure that westay in good shape and dress well. When we are healthy and well-groomed, we willnot only look better but also feel better. In addition, we should smile andappear friendly. After all, our facial expression is an important part of ourappearance. If we can do this, people will be attracted to our good looks andimpressed by our confidence.
Another important step is developing more consideration for others. We shouldalways put others first and place their interests before our own. It's alsoimportant to be good listeners; in this way people will feel comfortable enoughto confide in us. However, no matter what we do, we must not gossip. Above all,we must remember to be ourselves, not phonies. Only by being sincere andrespectful of others can we earn their respect. If we can do all of the above, Iam sure popularity will come our way.

Nowadays, the employment of college students is becoming more and more of aproblem. According to statistics, about 30% of graduate students can't find ajob after graduation. These college student who cannot find jobs are at theirworst. Why college graduates have difficulty finding jobs? Why is it a bigproblem that puzzled people for years?
The reason for it is various. The main reason has the following points:Firstly, the number of the college student is increasing faster and faster theseyears. In addition, many colleges and universities fail to adapt their coursesto the development of economy.
Secondly, It's easy for some students to find work. But the fact is that somestudents don't want to do the job, they except to find a work with a highersalary. In addition, some graduates did not work hard in college, so they arenot competent for jobs they want.
Last but not least, some college students cannot come to terms withthemselves and with the world around them. They pursue too high goals and aretoo particular about such factors as working conditions, salary, and so on.Therefore, they are reluctant to accept the job when they are offered tothem.
How can we deal with the problem? In my opinion, students who are in collegesmust work harder than before to keep their competitiveness. Only in this way canwe find a suitable job. The government should take effective measures to expandemployment. I do believe that this problem will be resolved soon.

Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is agrowth. If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow upalong with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the futureholds for (= what will happen to) me.
When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all startshere. Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a finebody, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfectjob.
Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forgetwhich you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put mypersonality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process Iwill combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this “future”, I think that Ireally grow up. And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love willperfection and happy in the future.
How to say future? Maybe it’s a nice wish. Lets make up our minds, stick toit and surely well enjoy our life.
