Making my voice heard
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I am a student from civil engineering class X.My name is S, the title of my speech is "making my voice heard".
For a shy boy, standing here is not easy, if I do not break out in a cold sweat or my legs are not shaking at this moment, it must be your lovely touched me.
Many years ago, in an afternoon a snotty little boy nap, he got out of bed, He had a dream that can't tell anyone. In the dream, he became a writer, through books, the whole world hear his voice. People read about his life, they experienced his suffering, which relieved their wounded heart. Many years later, the little boy had grown up, the Youth Suffering marked on his body. Is his dream still in, and what path has he decide to follow?
As you might have guessed, the little boy is me. Whenever I am aware of my unique and different, I would want to do something special, to serve for the people. I realized, before me, in the past and future time, no one will like me, because I am the whole history and the endless ocean of the only one, I must do something different career.
You are a miracle, said my parents. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you, your legs, your arms, your clever fingers and the way you move.
From infant to young adult, time flies and I have grown up. But the only thing that remains shining is my belief, that I am different from anybody else, that no one can ever replace me in the world, that one day I will make my voice heard.
I will strive to be a pioneer, a scholar, a kind of people who, even facing adversity, will continue to embrace life and walk fearlessly towards the challenge.
I have been to the orphan to play with those deserted children. I tell them stories and play with them on the lawn. I love to see them running freely here and there, wearing the innocent smile on their faces. When I told them a fairy tale they asked me, “Why the prince and princess always live a happy life in the end?” “Because that is in the fairy tale”,I explained. "We can imagine an ideal world, full of sweetness and happiness, but it is just a dream. Only through the efforts, constantly chasing, dreams can come true.
Life is not always satisfactory, different from the real story, you must adhere to, so to be successful." The nurses there said to me, “Thank you. You not only accompany them and tell them stories, but also explain something that we dare not talk with them about They will know the happiness and sorrow of the world sooner or later. It doesn’t matter who tells them about that. What does matter is how they perform to face their life with bravery and passion. And I am glad that they listen to my words and they will gradually make out what I mean.
Now I'm standing in the front of the room, I don't know how far is the distance to the dream, but I will stick to it. I try to express myself to gain your support. I dream of being a Shakespear, a Balzac any celebrity that is well known to the world. As Samuel Erman once wrote in his poem: “Youth is not a time of life. It's a state of mind. It's not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It's a matter of the will, a quality of imagination, a vigor of emotion. It's the freshness of the deep spring of life.” It doesn't matter what we've been through, where we come from, who our parents are, nor our social or economic status. The important thing is that you must adhere to, and then to succeed, then the world know.
I and my heart will be still unique. I will be brave. I will strive to increase my own knowledge and wisdom .then, one day, I will making my voice heard. That’s my all speech. Thank you.

I believe listening is powerful Medicine.
Studies have shown it takes a physician about 18 seconds to interrupt a patient after he begins talking.
It was Sunday. I had one last patient to see. I approached her room in a hurry and stood at the doorway. She was an older woman sitting at the edge of the bed struggling to put socks on her swollen feet. I crossed the threshold spoke quickly to the nurse scanned her chart noting she was in stable condition. I was almost in the clear.
I leaned on the bedrail looking down at her. She asked if I could help put on her socks. Instead I launched into a monologue that went something like this: "How are you feeling? Your sugars and blood pressure were high but they're better today. The nurse mentioned you're anxious to see your son who's visiting you today. It's nice to have family visit from far away. I bet you really look forward to seeing him."
She stopped me with a stern authoritative voice. "Sit down doctor. This is my story not your story."
I was surprised and embarrassed. I sat down. I helped her with the socks. She began to tell me that her only son lived around the corner from her but she had not seen him in five years. She believed that the stress of this contributed greatly to her health problems. After hearing her story and putting on her socks I asked if there was anything else I could do for her. She shook her head no and smiled. All she wanted me to do was to listen.
Each story is different. Some are detailed; others are vague. Some have a beginning middle and end. Others wander without a clear conclusion. Some are true; others not. Yet all those things do not really matter. What matters to the storyteller is that the story is heard — without interruption assumption or judgment.
Listening to someone's story costs less than expensive diagnostic testing but is key to healing and diagnosis.
I often thought of what that woman taught me and I reminded myself of the importance of stopping sitting down and truly listening. And not long after in an unexpected twist I became the patient with a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis at age 31. Now 20 years later I sit all the time — in a wheelchair.
For as long as I could I continued to see patients from my chair but I had to resign when my hands were affected. I still teach med students and other health care professionals but now from the perspective of physician and patient.
I tell them I believe in the power of listening. I tell them I know firsthand that immeasurable healing takes place within me when someone stops sits down and listens to my story.

Good afternoon, everyone!
The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”.
Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.
Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each other, and a friendship is likely to be formed.
What I want to stress is that each of us should listen more to others. Show your respect and never stop others till they finish their talk; show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile; be open-minded to different opinions even though you don’t like them. In a word, good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other.
Thank you for your listening!

It is quite imporLant to be a good listener. Effective listening is more than simply avoiding the bad habit of interrupting others while they are speaking. It's being content to listen to the entire thought of someone rather than waiting impatiently for your chance to respond.
Slowing down your responses and becoming a better listener aids you in becoming a more amiable person. As you wait for the person you are communicating with to finish, as you simply listen more intently to what is being said, you will feel more relaxed, and so will the people you are talking to. Not only will being a better listener make you a more patient person, but it will also improve your relationship with others because everyone loves to talk to someone who truly listens to what they are saying.
It is quite easy for you to be a better listener. As long as you for get yourself and imagine yourself in the speaker's experience to understand the emotion behind the words, and then give your appropriate responses slowly, you will be an endeared listener.
