Many teachers in the field of psychology in our country have been using the English version of this book as their first reference for teaching for many years. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues and the heavy translation workload of over one million words, this book has not been translated into Chinese. With a sense of mission towards the basic education and popularization of psychology in China, 18 professors from the Department of Psychology at Peking University worked together, each selecting a part based on their own research expertise and interests and carefully translating it. As Professor Wang Lei said, "The translation of this textbook is the crystallization of the collective wisdom and team cohesion of the professors in the Department of Psychology at Peking University
As a mature textbook containing rich educational ideas and unique teaching methods, all elements of the original book - such as the "professional terminology list" consisting of more than 600 vocabulary and explanations, the highly valuable "reference list" of over 2000, and the "personal name and topic index" of nearly 1000- are extremely valuable for teaching, research, and learning. Therefore, they have been fully translated and preserved in this Chinese translation version. In addition, a series of rich and unique teaching aids and tools are also used in conjunction with the teaching of this book. New Curve Company of Peoples Posts and Telecommunications Press and Pearson Education Publishing Company cooperate to provide free main courseware for teachers who use this textbook.
This textbook is written smoothly, easy to understand, and delves deeper into daily life, connecting psychological theories and knowledge to peoples daily lives and work, making it an excellent reading material for the general public to understand psychology and themselves.
As the author stated, "Psychology is a science closely related to human happiness." Its unique style of being close to life and deeply practiced is also a good reading material for the general public to understand psychology, better understand human nature, and improve their overall quality.
The author metaphorically compares studying psychology in this book to a "journey of wisdom". Choosing her, I believe you will definitely make this trip worthwhile. Good luck!
