。ㄎ澹┩扑]信的內(nèi)容盡量簡短有力:不要虛無空洞的形容詞,例如他任職于某公司時,勤勞、負責、認真、為人謙虛、誠懇等語句,不宜多引用,最好講出具體事實,才不流于形式,尤其不要抄襲市面的書信范例,以免流于陳腔濫調(diào),落入俗套。

(七)適當提及自己的“缺點”。一封推薦信如果闡述的完全是被推薦的同學的優(yōu)點,不免讓人覺得有粉飾之嫌,如果能恰當?shù)丶尤胍恍叭秉c”,不僅能令推薦信真實,還會通過“似貶實褒”,反而突出了被推薦人的特殊氣質(zhì)。例如計算機專業(yè)、數(shù)學專業(yè)乃至金融專業(yè)的同學,在推薦信中可以考慮加入這樣的詞句:“該生有時因為過分專注于研究工作而難以平衡生活各方面的關系,這不失為一種美中不足”。這句話似乎是在談“缺點”,但很明顯這樣的“缺點”其實正是很多專業(yè)最渴望的“缺點”——廢寢忘食的工作態(tài)度,從而使得“缺點”也為申請?zhí)峁┝司薮髱椭?/p>
推薦信包含的主要題材
。ㄒ唬┡c申請者的關系:表達清楚何種方式認識。譬如說是老師、指導教授,老板等。說明交往多久,如果是教授學生關系,對教授的科目做一個簡短的說明,如果推薦信者是你的老板(主管),請詳細說明你的工作職責。
。ǘ┩扑]者對申請人人格個性特征的印象:譬如學習精神、工作態(tài)度、與同事(同學)相處的情形、組織領導能力、學術專長、研究能力、有無工作經(jīng)驗與否,并加注評語。
。ㄈ┩扑]者對你能否順利完成學位的看法:譬如說,描述你對特別分配職務上的表現(xiàn),以表現(xiàn)你的應變能力。又如,申請者是否有其它潛力未發(fā)揮? 如果申請者的成績未盡理想,評述你對申請者的看法。解釋申請者雖然形式上的成績未盡理想,卻有極深厚的潛力尚未發(fā)揮。如果申請者轉(zhuǎn)系,也可以強調(diào)申請者有強烈的學習動機,根據(jù)推薦者的觀察,相信以申請者的表現(xiàn),一定可以成功完成學業(yè)。
(四)推薦者對申請人人格個性特征的印象:譬如學習精神、工作態(tài)度、與同事(同學)相處的情形、組織領導能力、學術專長、研究能力、有無工作經(jīng)驗與否,并
加注評語。 (五)重述推薦者對申請人的支持及能力的確認,以再次肯定對申請人的支持與推薦。 美國留學申請推薦信的模式 推薦信的格式有些模式可循,以下將針對各段提供模式作參考:
(一)抬頭可用的格式有: Dear Sir/Madam; To Whom It May Concern:

“S/he not only did his/her own work, but also helped other employees, and made many valuable contributions to the efficient running to our firm.” 第二段最后一段:可以提及申請人在班上(或公司里)的'比較表現(xiàn)(譬如排名): “I was rate (name)'s academic ability as in the top 10% of his/her class.” “Compared against other students that I have taught, I would say that (name) ranks in the upper 10%. 接下來,推薦者可對申請人能否成功完成學業(yè)提出看法。舉例: “Based on his/her previous performance, I am certain that (name) would be a very successful student at your university.” “I believe that (name) possesses all the qualities necessary to make an excellent graduate student in his/her chosen field, and am sure that s/he will make a fine addition to your campus.”
(四)第三段:如果還有其它話想說,請另寫一段.例如:英文能力、溝通技巧、領導才能、特殊學術或工作背景。譬如說,如果申請人欲申請的科系是企管系,推薦者可著力描寫他們有關申請人商業(yè)的專門技術、領導才能,以及申請者所參加的商業(yè)活動,例如,有關商業(yè)方面的組織社團。又如,申請人申請護理研究所,推薦者可著力描寫他們關懷的態(tài)度、處理實驗室的技能,或是對病人的奉獻。

在寫推薦信和上傳推薦信這兩個過程中,保證推薦信的真實性,非常重要!!而申請的時候往往需要三封到兩封推薦信。所以這其中的細節(jié)我們也必須注意!!
如果你聯(lián)系的教授比較忙,沒時間寫推薦信,需要你自己寫推薦信,然后找他簽字。這種情況的話,一定要注意,推薦信的格式問題。比如說:你可能要準備三封推薦信,然后讓老師簽字。那么這三份推薦信的字體、字號、格式、板式、以及問候語、簽字位置、落款時間等,都要有一定的差別。解決方法很簡單,多找?guī)追N推薦信的模版,再根據(jù)自己的需求稍加改動就行了。

如果老師很忙,就需要我們自己上傳推薦信。 這樣的話,我們可以告訴老師把學校發(fā)送的notification email轉(zhuǎn)發(fā)給我們,就可以自己上傳啦。
上傳不僅是我們校內(nèi)微博上傳頭像那么簡單,還需要有打分的項目。學校會有個類似的表格,會讓推薦老師給學生各個方面的素質(zhì)打分。這個地方要注意的是,我們不能都給自己打最高分(top 5%),太優(yōu)秀,就太假了。也得有幾個中等的評價。但是也不能為了真實,給自己打個最差的(lower than 5%)這樣對申請不利!!
打完分,下面還會有一些老師對學生的評價,這里是可填可不填的。最好是填上,信息越完整,真實度就越高。在這個欄中,寫一些對自己優(yōu)點的肯定,但是也要寫一點不足之處。這個不足,一定要不致命的。比如說:學習能力很強,但是缺乏實際操作經(jīng)驗。在處理突發(fā)事件的時候,有些稚嫩等等。

殊不知這樣的心態(tài),耽誤了多少“潛力股”的大好前程。推薦信在整個申請過程中,起著至關重要的作用,它是申請者自我營銷戰(zhàn)略里至關重要的部分,一篇過于平淡的推薦信,很可能成為你申請材料里的一處硬傷,讓你永無翻身之日。

一什么是“好”的推薦信?

自己對于自己的評價難免不夠“客觀”,推薦信的作用,在于招生官希望能夠從第三方的角度,客觀的了解申請者的情況。通常來說,招生官希望從推薦信里了解到的信息包括但不限于:
1、你在申請材料里講述的是否都是事實
如果你的活動列表里完全沒有任何參加公益活動的內(nèi)容,你的推薦信里卻提到你是一個熱衷公益,十分有社會責任感的人,這就不免讓招生官產(chǎn)生疑惑;如果你從來沒有提到你在音樂方面有天賦,你的推薦信卻告訴招生官你的鋼琴比莫扎特彈的還好,這就是個笑話。
2、你的成就是否足以給別人留下深刻的印象

4、對申請文書的內(nèi)容做補充
這對于高中申請本科的同學尤其適用。推薦書中,有一個小文書是非常難于處理的,那就是“在你列出的活動中,哪一項對你最有意義,為什么?”這篇文書僅限150字。你會不會因為篇幅不夠而感到苦惱?會不會因為沒有寫出你自己的全部想法而感到遺憾?這個時候,推薦信會是一個很好的補充。
5、為招生官客觀的評價你提供全面的背景信息
