對(duì)于求職者來(lái)說(shuō),一份好的簡(jiǎn)歷如同叩開(kāi)外企大門的“敲門磚”,其重要性不言而喻。但是,僅憑簡(jiǎn)歷就想獲得面試機(jī)會(huì)也并非易事,因?yàn)楹?jiǎn)歷通常只是列表式地羅列求職者的相關(guān)信息,內(nèi)容常常顯得單薄或缺乏生氣,不夠吸引人。為了彌補(bǔ)簡(jiǎn)歷的這一不足之處,求職者可以在投遞簡(jiǎn)歷的同時(shí),附上一封聲情并茂的cover letter (求職信),這樣不僅能增強(qiáng)求職者的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力,還能顯示出求職者應(yīng)聘的誠(chéng)意與認(rèn)真的態(tài)度。本期筆者就具體介紹一下cover letter的撰寫框架和注意事項(xiàng),并提供幾篇范例,供求職者參考。 撰寫框架
Cover letter通常包括四個(gè)部分,求職者可在這四個(gè)部分中分別介紹如下內(nèi)容。
第一部分:求職者應(yīng)開(kāi)門見(jiàn)山地說(shuō)明自己要應(yīng)聘的職位,同時(shí)簡(jiǎn)述自己是如何獲得這一招聘信息的。 第二部分:在這一部分,首先,求職者應(yīng)強(qiáng)調(diào)自己對(duì)應(yīng)聘職位充滿濃厚興趣,渴望獲得這一職位;其次,求職者應(yīng)說(shuō)明自己符合該應(yīng)聘職位的要求;最后,求職者可簡(jiǎn)要介紹自己與應(yīng)聘職位相關(guān)的學(xué)歷水平、經(jīng)歷、成就等,說(shuō)明自己能夠?yàn)楣咀鞒鲐暙I(xiàn)、創(chuàng)造價(jià)值。
第三部分:在這一部分,求職者應(yīng)著重強(qiáng)調(diào)自己具備應(yīng)聘職位所需的專業(yè)知識(shí)、技能和工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)。為增強(qiáng)說(shuō)服力,求職者也可列舉實(shí)例說(shuō)明。例如,在表述自己具備會(huì)議組織能力時(shí),求職者可簡(jiǎn)要介紹一下自己曾組織過(guò)何種大型會(huì)議等。
第四部分:求職者應(yīng)表述自己希望獲得面試機(jī)會(huì)的熱切心情。同時(shí),求職者還應(yīng)說(shuō)明自己何時(shí)方便參加面試,并表明自己愿意在面試時(shí)提供更多相關(guān)信息。
注意事項(xiàng)
對(duì)求職者來(lái)說(shuō),cover letter不同于其他普通信函,它可能直接關(guān)系到求職者能否最終獲得面試機(jī)會(huì)。所以,求職者在寫cover letter時(shí)一定要小心、謹(jǐn)慎,需特別注意以下五個(gè)方面。
1. 禮貌得體。在寫cover letter時(shí),求職者可首先通過(guò)致電招聘公司等方式,盡可能地獲得將來(lái)讀cover letter的人的姓名,這樣在信的開(kāi)頭,便可用“Dear +名字”的形式稱呼對(duì)方。若實(shí)在無(wú)法了解到對(duì)方姓名,也要盡可能地詢問(wèn)到對(duì)方的商務(wù)頭銜,用“Dear +頭銜”的方式稱呼對(duì)方,例如“Dear Recruitment Manager”或“Dear Human Resources Manager”等,這些稱呼要比“Dear Sir”或“Dear Madam”更恰當(dāng)。
2. 態(tài)度誠(chéng)懇。求職者應(yīng)針對(duì)應(yīng)聘公司的特點(diǎn)和職位要求有針對(duì)性地寫cover letter,信的字里行間要透露出你想為應(yīng)聘公司服務(wù)的意愿,多表述自己能為公司做什么,少講述自己通過(guò)該應(yīng)聘職位能獲得什么好處。求職者在寫信的過(guò)程中,一定要杜絕出現(xiàn)錯(cuò)字連篇的現(xiàn)象,否則不但會(huì)給人輕率和缺乏誠(chéng)意的印象,還會(huì)使對(duì)方對(duì)求職者的'能力產(chǎn)生懷疑。
3. 實(shí)事求是、恰如其分地介紹自己的能力和特長(zhǎng)。適度的謙虛是美德,但過(guò)分的謙虛是缺乏自信的表現(xiàn),只會(huì)讓自己錯(cuò)失良機(jī)。因此,求職者在寫cover letter時(shí),應(yīng)對(duì)自己的能力有個(gè)準(zhǔn)確的估量,然后實(shí)事求是地予以陳述。只有自己樹立了信心,才能獲得別人的認(rèn)同和贊賞。但同時(shí),求職者也要注意,信中切忌出現(xiàn)過(guò)分吹噓的話,例如“我能適應(yīng)各種工作”“聽(tīng)說(shuō)貴公司最近效益不太好,我完全有能力改變這種狀況”以及“我做過(guò)幾項(xiàng)課題,貴公司遇到的此類技術(shù)問(wèn)題,我一定能夠解決”等。剛出校門的大學(xué)生尤其要注意這一點(diǎn),雖然大學(xué)生有一定的理論基礎(chǔ),但尚缺乏實(shí)踐經(jīng)驗(yàn),所以在cover letter中要盡量避免使用“一定” “肯定” “第一”“絕對(duì)”“完全可以”“保證能做到”等大話。
4. 篇幅適當(dāng)。如果cover letter太短的話,可能無(wú)法清晰表達(dá)出求職者的想法,也會(huì)使求職者顯得誠(chéng)意不足;但如果cover letter過(guò)長(zhǎng),又會(huì)有冗繁之嫌,可能引起讀信者的反感。一般來(lái)說(shuō),cover letter以A4紙的半頁(yè)至一頁(yè)篇幅為宜。如果求職者確實(shí)有重要的內(nèi)容需要詳加闡述,也不宜超過(guò)兩頁(yè)。
5. 切忌一信多投!耙恍哦嗤丁笔莄over letter的大忌。求職者要針對(duì)不同的應(yīng)聘公司和職位要求寫不同內(nèi)容的cover letter。如果求職者抱著“以不變應(yīng)萬(wàn)變”的態(tài)度,將一封cover letter重復(fù)地投遞到不同公司,可能會(huì)讓招聘公司認(rèn)為你偷懶且誠(chéng)心不夠,極易被拒。
