  第一部分 求職信 (Cover letter)

  在今天,絕大部分雇主指出,他們是從來不會看沒有求職信(Cover letter)的個人簡歷的。因此,求職信是必要的。但求職信不是對個人簡歷的簡單復(fù)述,而是禮貌而鮮明的突出自己的目標(biāo)和要求,促使閱讀者有興趣閱讀你的個人簡歷和推薦信。

  求職信的目的和好處在于:

  1, 可保證個人簡歷到達(dá)正確的閱讀人的桌面。如果招聘廣告上沒有收信人的姓名,我推薦打電話詢問將會處理求職申請的人的姓名(這顯示你的誠意以及專業(yè)精神,給雇主深刻印象)。假如不能的話按照以下原則:小型企業(yè)—經(jīng)理(Managing director),中型企業(yè)—部門負(fù)責(zé)人(Head of section/department),大型企業(yè)—全體職員或者人事部(Personnel or Human Resource Department)。

  2, 說服收信者閱讀你的個人簡歷

  3, 清楚地表明你對具體哪一個職位感興趣

  第二部分 個人簡歷(CV)

  第一, 一般建議:

  或許你可以從網(wǎng)上或?qū)W校提供的求職指引得到一些寫個人簡歷的模板,但雇主通常對千篇一律的求職信不感興趣。因此,千萬不要復(fù)制一些標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的模板。你的CV應(yīng)該是你自己的,個性化的,但又跟個性化不同。

  首先,個人簡歷應(yīng)該用文字處理軟件來打出,并用質(zhì)量好的打印機(jī)打印。注意不要用太多不同的字體和大小,不要用其它顏色。但推薦用加粗或者下劃線標(biāo)出少數(shù)的重要的關(guān)鍵詞,便于雇主找尋他想看到的詞。

  其次,不要忘記在計(jì)算機(jī)上用―拼寫和語法‖工具查拼寫錯誤和語法錯誤,或者讓其他英語水平好的朋友檢查。

  第二,動筆之前

  坐下來仔細(xì)閱讀你想申請的工作的廣告,甚至他們并沒有打出招聘廣告你也可以試一下。列出他們的要求,比較你自己的技能,教育程度,工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)等。很多時候,招聘廣告所給的信息并不足夠,除了站在他們的角度想象一些可能的要求之外,你還必須對相關(guān)的'雇主和/或其公司的情況,例如公司結(jié)構(gòu),產(chǎn)品,成功之處,發(fā)展宏圖等進(jìn)行搜索作一些了解。搜索的途徑主要有:因特網(wǎng),其公司的正式文件、宣傳資料、報告,報紙報道等。

  第三,書寫風(fēng)格(Style)

  大體上有兩種。第一種是按時間循序式(Chronological),所有的信息包括在鮮明的標(biāo)題下,例如教育程度、工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)等。這一種方法容易入手一些。第二種稱為技能針對式(Skills Based),就是根據(jù)技能要求列標(biāo)題,所有個人信息分別列舉在相應(yīng)標(biāo)題下。這一種比較高難度。

  第四,簡歷長度和紙張格式

  1-2頁。一定不要超過三張A4紙(特殊工種除外),因?yàn)楣椭鳑]有那么耐心和時間看完你的業(yè)績。注意,大部分情況下用正式的白色紙張和黑色字體,但某些情況可以改變。例如你申請的是電視臺節(jié)目或者圖像設(shè)計(jì)等相關(guān)工作時,可以考慮用彩色紙張,別出心裁的設(shè)計(jì)等。

  第五,組成部分

  1,個人資料(PERSONAL DETAILS)

  包括姓名(建議用英文名字加上自己的姓以便聯(lián)系和稱呼),電話號碼,電子郵件地址,聯(lián)絡(luò)地址(因在信封上和求職信中已包括,可以考慮不列出),生日(各地文化不同,通常沒必要列出),性別(如果你用英文名的話不必列出),還有個人網(wǎng)址(如果你覺得制作得不錯的話)。沒必要列出國籍(在國內(nèi)的話多此一舉,在國外的話此舉會降低你的面試機(jī)會)

  2,教育程度(EDUCATION)

  主要列出大學(xué)或者專科的學(xué)習(xí)情況。所學(xué)科目,所得學(xué)位或畢業(yè)程度,每年所學(xué)的跟求職工種相關(guān)的課程,還有自己參加的相關(guān)項(xiàng)目(Project),所寫的論文(Thesis/dissertation)等。另外如果獲得獎學(xué)金或其他嘉獎的話不妨列出。

  高中畢業(yè)情況很簡要的列出,比高中遠(yuǎn)的學(xué)歷沒必要列出。

  建議按照由近到遠(yuǎn)的時間循序列出。

  3,工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)(WORK EXPERIENCES)

  列出你最近的工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)。給出你雇主的名字,你自己的職位,還有非常重要的是,你在工作崗位上所作的成績和貢獻(xiàn)。如果沒有突出的成績,可以列出你的職能,例如接待多少客戶,完成多少項(xiàng)目,協(xié)助完成多少項(xiàng)公司交易等。

  另外,只要是與所求職位相關(guān)的工作經(jīng)驗(yàn),即使是很短期的Part-time工作,也不妨把它列出來。

  4,技能長處(SKILLS)

  包括語言能力,計(jì)算機(jī)水平和經(jīng)驗(yàn),有否駕駛照等

  5,個人興趣(INTREST / EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES)

  簡要地列出你的一些個人興趣,例如體育項(xiàng)目(如果你跟雇主的興趣相同的話更佳)、集體活動、志愿工作等,尤其是如果你在這些活動中擔(dān)任領(lǐng)袖(leadership)的話。注意一定要簡練。舉個例子,如果你曾擔(dān)任系籃球隊(duì)隊(duì)長的話,雇主沒有興趣知道具體你什么時候擔(dān)任,打過幾場比賽,贏過幾場比賽等。假如他們對這些有興趣的話會在面試的時候問你。

  這一部分可以讓雇主從側(cè)面了解你的群體協(xié)作程度和正面的社交性格。

  6,推薦信和/或推薦人(REFERENCES/REFEREES)

  通常列出兩個名字,一個來自大學(xué),另一個來自任何工作環(huán)境(全職/Part-time/義工)。如果沒有的話,可以列出對你非常了解的比你年長的家庭朋友。然后給出他們的職位,工作電話和夜間電話(事先必須獲得他們的同意)。

  7,可選項(xiàng)(Optional extras)

  在開頭可以采用個性化的聲明(Personal Profile/Objective statement),用兩到三個句子概括你的能力,

  第七,申請表格(Application forms)

  對于某些工作,雇主會先發(fā)給你相關(guān)申請表格。這時你仍然需要寫一封求職信(Covering letter),以及你的個人簡歷(CV)(除非雇主有表明不必要)。

  注意,填寫表格與寫CV一樣,要求干凈和清晰,用黑色鋼筆或圓珠筆(便于復(fù)。。

  推薦:用另外的紙張寫出你的答案,或者先把表格復(fù)印下來,在復(fù)印件上寫和改動,最后確定才把它抄到正件。
