  第一部分 求職信 (Cover letter)

  在今天,絕大部分雇主指出,他們是從來不會(huì)看沒有求職信(Cover letter)的個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷的。因此,求職信是必要的。但求職信不是對(duì)個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷的簡(jiǎn)單復(fù)述,而是禮貌而鮮明的突出自己的目標(biāo)和要求,促使閱讀者有興趣閱讀你的個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷和推薦信。

  求職信的目的和好處在于:

  第一, 一般建議:

  或許你可以從網(wǎng)上或?qū)W校提供的求職指引得到一些寫個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷的模板,但雇主通常對(duì)千篇一律的求職信不感興趣。因此,千萬不要復(fù)制一些標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的模板。你的CV應(yīng)該是你自己的,個(gè)性化的,但又跟個(gè)性化不同。

  首先,個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷應(yīng)該用文字處理軟件來打出,并用質(zhì)量好的打印機(jī)打印。注意不要用太多不同的字體和大小,不要用其它顏色。但推薦用加粗或者下劃線標(biāo)出少數(shù)的重要的關(guān)鍵詞,便于雇主找尋他想看到的詞。

  第四,簡(jiǎn)歷長(zhǎng)度和紙張格式

  主要列出大學(xué)或者專科的學(xué)習(xí)情況。所學(xué)科目,所得學(xué)位或畢業(yè)程度,每年所學(xué)的跟求職工種相關(guān)的課程,還有自己參加的相關(guān)項(xiàng)目(Project),所寫的論文(Thesis/dissertation)等。另外如果獲得獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金或其他嘉獎(jiǎng)的話不妨列出。

  高中畢業(yè)情況很簡(jiǎn)要的列出,比高中遠(yuǎn)的學(xué)歷沒必要列出。

  建議按照由近到遠(yuǎn)的時(shí)間循序列出。

  3,工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)(WORK EXPERIENCES)

  列出你最近的工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)。給出你雇主的名字,你自己的職位,還有非常重要的是,你在工作崗位上所作的成績(jī)和貢獻(xiàn)。如果沒有突出的成績(jī),可以列出你的職能,例如接待多少客戶,完成多少項(xiàng)目,協(xié)助完成多少項(xiàng)公司交易等。

  另外,只要是與所求職位相關(guān)的工作經(jīng)驗(yàn),即使是很短期的Part-time工作,也不妨把它列出來。

  4,技能長(zhǎng)處(SKILLS)

  5,個(gè)人興趣(INTREST / EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES)

  第六,求職信(Covering letter)(見上―第一部分‖)

  第七,申請(qǐng)表格(Application forms)

  對(duì)于某些工作,雇主會(huì)先發(fā)給你相關(guān)申請(qǐng)表格。這時(shí)你仍然需要寫一封求職信(Covering letter),以及你的個(gè)人簡(jiǎn)歷(CV)(除非雇主有表明不必要)。

  注意,填寫表格與寫CV一樣,要求干凈和清晰,用黑色鋼筆或圓珠筆(便于復(fù)。。

  推薦:用另外的紙張寫出你的答案,或者先把表格復(fù)印下來,在復(fù)印件上寫和改動(dòng),最后確定才把它抄到正件。

  值得一提的是,除了以上看報(bào)紙寄求職信等消息的方法外,還有一種最直接而且事實(shí)證明是最有效的求職方法,就是直接上門。但這種會(huì)丟掉你很多―面子‖。

Dear Mr. Cavendish,

  I saw your advertisement in the local paper this evening,and I wonder if you would consider me for a job as a waiter this summer.

  I am seventeen years old and at present I am studying English and economics. When I leave school, I hope to take a course in hotel management. During the school holidays last summer, I worked as a waiter at the Central Hotel. The headwaiter there, Mr. Macintosh, will be pleased to send you a recommendation for me.

  I would prefer to work in your hotel in Filey because it is near my home. However, if there isn’t any job there for me, perhaps you could consider me for the Scarborough Hotel.

  I would be pleased if you will send me information about the pay and conditions of the job to be offered. I will be free to begin work in the fourth week of July when the school holidays start.
