語(yǔ)音是口語(yǔ)能力的重要基礎(chǔ)。發(fā)音準(zhǔn)確與否直接影響語(yǔ)意的準(zhǔn)確表達(dá)與及時(shí)溝通。流利、準(zhǔn)確的發(fā)音也是口齒伶俐、說(shuō)話清晰的基本要求。許多英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者，由于受母語(yǔ)以及方言等種種原因的影響，往往在發(fā)音方面出現(xiàn)單音不到位、音素混淆、輔音連綴把握不好等現(xiàn)象。而傳統(tǒng)的語(yǔ)音教學(xué)存在一定的局限性：教學(xué)素材方面大多是以供單音訓(xùn)練的單詞為主，短語(yǔ)、句子類素材不多，而且所提供的素材中既定訓(xùn)練音素出現(xiàn)頻率不是很高；教學(xué)方法通常是提供發(fā)音器官圖，講解發(fā)音要領(lǐng)，要求學(xué)生練習(xí)口形，根據(jù)錄音模仿發(fā)音。傳統(tǒng)的語(yǔ)音教學(xué)雖然在一定程度上對(duì)學(xué)生習(xí)得英語(yǔ)發(fā)音有幫助，但從學(xué)習(xí)心理的角度來(lái)看卻往往顯得枯燥、單調(diào)和乏味。其主要的原因在于既定訓(xùn)練項(xiàng)目出現(xiàn)的頻率低以及相應(yīng)的語(yǔ)境缺失。繞口令最突出的功能就是矯正發(fā)音、訓(xùn)練口齒伶俐。對(duì)于英語(yǔ)教學(xué)而言，編排適當(dāng)?shù)睦@口令是一種練習(xí)發(fā)音、富有趣味而且很有效的練習(xí)材料。繞口令可以用來(lái)訓(xùn)練單音、對(duì)比音素、音素綜合訓(xùn)練以及節(jié)奏感訓(xùn)練。
