不同于高考和四六級(jí)，考研英語(yǔ)往往將一些考點(diǎn)設(shè)置在某一基本詞匯的引申義上，而非其基本含義。所以，這在無形中就增加了英語(yǔ)閱讀和理解的難度。本期，2016凱程考研就帶領(lǐng)大家一起來解析一下考研英語(yǔ)翻譯中常見的比較結(jié)構(gòu)，看看它們?cè)诜g前和翻譯后是如何發(fā)生化學(xué)反應(yīng)的。
1. more than
more than這個(gè)詞組本身是“多于，超出，比...多，不僅僅，不止”這個(gè)含義。例如：Altogether more than 70 percent of the surface of our planet is covered by water. 這句話可以翻譯為：我們星球的表面有超過70%的部分都是被水所覆蓋的。
而且，more than 放在名詞之前，就是“不僅僅”這個(gè)含義了。例如：
①Hibernation is more than sleep. 冬眠不僅僅是睡眠。
②You’re more than one man fighting.你不只是一個(gè)人在戰(zhàn)斗。
此外，more than 用于形容詞或副詞前，則是可以用來表示程度的。 例如：
�、費(fèi)y parents are more than kind to me.則意為：父母對(duì)我非常好。
②She is more than careful in doing things. 她做事非常認(rèn)真。
③In class , he listens more than attentively. 課堂上，她聚精會(huì)神的聽著。
另外，more than用于句子前，還可用來表示否定。如：
He earns more money than he can spend.他掙了好多錢都花不完。
2. more A than B和less B than A
我們都知道，more后面接的是肯定的對(duì)象，less后面的是否定對(duì)象。那than呢?More A than B,的含義是“是A而不是B”;與其說B，不如說A”.
�、貶e was more frightened than hurt. 與其說他受傷了，不如說他被嚇到了。
�、贖e is more lucky than clever.他是幸運(yùn)，而不是聰明。
�、跦e is more a close friend than a boyfriend to her. 他對(duì)她而言，是一個(gè)親密的朋友，而不是男朋友。
而less B than A則是“是A而不是B”的含義。如：
Jim is less honest than his brother. 這句話則可翻譯為“Jim不像他兄弟那樣誠(chéng)實(shí)”。
3. no more ...than和not...any more than
no more ...than和not...any more than的含義也是相同的，意思是“正如...也不那樣，A和B都不”。如：
Marry is no more diligent than Tom. 這句話的意思是“Marry和Tom都不勤奮”。同樣的，We can no more leave the Party than fish can leave water.這句話的意思則是：我們不能離開宴會(huì)，正如魚不能離開水一樣。
4. no more than 和not any more than
no more than 和 not any more than這對(duì)詞組和前面所講的有所不同，它們意思是相同的，都是“不多于，不超過”的含義。例如：
Abraham Lincoln's whole school education added up to no more than one year. 這句話的含義就是：Abraham Lincoln的整個(gè)學(xué)校教育時(shí)間加起來不超過一年。
5. not more... than
這個(gè)詞組看起來和not more than相似，但是含義有很大的不同。它是“不比...”的意思。
This story is not more interesting than that one. 這個(gè)故事并不比那個(gè)故事有趣。
=This story is not so/ as interesting as that one. 這個(gè)故事和那個(gè)故事一樣無趣，沒有吸引力。
