the fast growth of internet has become a spotlight in chinas information and communications industries, said vice minister of ministry of information industry jiang yaoping on thursday.
jiang told a national meeting on internet that the countrys increasing netizens prompted the rapid development of internet related technologies in china.
the number of broadband users reached 77 million and there are currently 788,000 websites in the country, according to jiang.
despite its second place in the world list, internet penetration is actually relatively weak per capita in the country of 1.3 billion people.
jiang said internet has played an increasingly important role in promoting chinas economic development and improving peoples life quality.
meanwhile, he said china is stepping up efforts in supervising the internet. with the wide use of internet in the country, his ministry has already shifted focus from ensuring information and network safety to protecting intellectual property rights, consumers rights and privacy and business secrets.
a series of rules and regulations have been worked out in this regard, including the internet safety emergency plan, he noted.
互聯(lián)網(wǎng)在中國(guó)的普及程度越來(lái)越高，截止今年6月底，我國(guó)的網(wǎng)民數(shù)量達(dá)到1.23億，僅次于美國(guó)，位居世界第二。
據(jù)信息產(chǎn)業(yè)部副部長(zhǎng)蔣耀平周四介紹，互聯(lián)網(wǎng)的迅速發(fā)展成為中國(guó)信息通訊業(yè)的一大亮點(diǎn)。
蔣部長(zhǎng)在中國(guó)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)大會(huì)上說(shuō)，我國(guó)網(wǎng)民的不斷增加推動(dòng)了我國(guó)互聯(lián)網(wǎng)相關(guān)技術(shù)的迅速發(fā)展。
蔣部長(zhǎng)介紹，目前，我國(guó)寬帶用戶達(dá)到7700萬(wàn)，國(guó)內(nèi)網(wǎng)站達(dá)到78.8萬(wàn)。
雖然我國(guó)網(wǎng)民數(shù)位居世界第二，但我國(guó)人口總數(shù)達(dá)13億，互聯(lián)網(wǎng)的`滲透率還是相對(duì)較低。
蔣部長(zhǎng)說(shuō)，互聯(lián)網(wǎng)在促進(jìn)中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展和提高人民生活水平方面發(fā)揮著越來(lái)越重要的作用。
他還說(shuō)，中國(guó)正在加大互聯(lián)網(wǎng)的監(jiān)管力度。隨著互聯(lián)網(wǎng)的使用日益廣泛，信息產(chǎn)業(yè)部已將工作重點(diǎn)從保證信息和網(wǎng)絡(luò)安全轉(zhuǎn)移到保護(hù)知識(shí)產(chǎn)權(quán)、消費(fèi)者權(quán)益和隱私以及商業(yè)秘密上來(lái)。
他說(shuō)，信息產(chǎn)業(yè)部已出臺(tái)了《互聯(lián)網(wǎng)安全和應(yīng)急預(yù)案》等一系列相關(guān)的法律法規(guī)。
