在考研英語的Part A 小作文部分，書信作為考查的重點所在，種類繁多。在前面我們曾就以題目為例，詳細(xì)地解析過前十一種書信：即建議信、投訴信、咨詢信、感謝信、祝賀信、道歉信、慰問信、申請信、求職信、推薦信、介紹信的寫作方法及其注意事項。今天本文就對考研英語小作文中的第十二種書信——辭職信——進行深入的分析。

　　辭職信，英文中稱為letter of resignation，是向自己上司或工作單位辭去工作時所寫的信件。書寫辭職信是務(wù)必要注意態(tài)度懇切得當(dāng)、措辭委婉含蓄。

　　一般來說，在考研英語中，辭職信主體部分的寫作可按照三個步驟進行，即“三步走”策略。接下來就以題目為例，具體解析一下這個策略。

　　例題：

　　Directions：

　　Two months ago you got a job as an editor for the magazine Designs & Fashions. But now you find that the work is not what you expected. You decide to quit. Write a letter to your boss, Mr. Wang, telling him your decision, stating your reason(s), and making an apology.

　　You should write about 100 words on ANSWER SHEET 2.

　　Do not sign your own name at the end of the letter. Use “Li Ming” instead.

　　Do not write the address.

　　題目所給的規(guī)定情景是兩個月前你在《設(shè)計與時尚》雜志得到了一分編輯的工作，但是現(xiàn)在卻發(fā)現(xiàn)工作不適合自己，因此決定辭職。要求你向老板王先生寫一封信，告訴他你決定辭職并說明原因以及做出道歉。

　　根據(jù)上面所提的辭職信寫作“三步走”策略，具體操作如下：

　　首段：I am writing this letter to apologize that I plan to quit the position as an editor of your magazine for the reason of myself.

　　在辭職信中，“三步走”策略中的第一步是要表明寫信目的，即提出辭職。用到的英語句型自然是應(yīng)該更為委婉的。此外，還須在后面簡要陳述原因。

　　中段：During the span of working here, I have been deeply impressed by the kindness and diligence of all colleagues. But meanwhile I have come to realize that the job probably is not suitable for me because I want a more peaceful and slow life. I find that I am not able to devote all my efforts to a job which I do not really like.

　　在辭職信中，表明了目的之后，接下來第二段的主要內(nèi)容就是向?qū)Ψ浇忉尵唧w原因了。但是在解釋原因之前，為禮貌委婉起見我們還須對一直以來的工作表示肯定與表揚，以更能獲得對方的理解。

　　尾段：So I am awfully sorry to tell you my decision to quit. Please accept my apology.

　　本段中，緊接前面內(nèi)容，解釋完原因后，重申自己的寫信目的。其次，自己辭職給公司帶來了不便，因此按照題目要求還須進行道歉，期待對方的原諒。

　　在考研英語的書信表達(dá)中，類似的首段或尾段的套用句式比較豐富，大家需要在復(fù)習(xí)過程中進行有意的積累，并在寫作中加以運用：

　　1. I am writing to inform you about my decision to resign from my…

　　2. By this letter I am resigning my position as …

　　3. I have accepted an offer by another firm and have decided to tender my resignation.

　　4. Please accept my sincere gratitude, as well as my regret for not being able to serve here any longer.

　　5. Please feel free to contact me at any time if I can be of further assistance in helping with a smooth transition.
