求職信的格式(Format)：
(1)如商業(yè)文書，信首右上方是發(fā)信地址及發(fā)信日期。接下來，左上方則是收信人姓名、職稱、收信地址（包括公司名稱），有關收信人之姓名及職稱應調(diào)查清楚。如不確定，可去電該公司總機查詢，并查詢該人事甄選負責人之姓名，以便冠稱 Mr.orMs.(Mrs.)。
(2)敬稱語：Dear Mr., Mrs.or Ms.姓，只稱呼其姓，而不須全名列出（但需注意的是，前文提到收信人，則應列出全名，即 Mr. (firstname)+(last name)，此敬稱語千萬不可因不確定收信人為何而以 'To whom it may concern' 取代，此舉讓人覺得草率而且缺乏誠意。
3)正文：通常分為三至四段，并且以一頁為原則，除非必要，方使用二頁。
　�。帷⒌谝欢危赫f明寫此信之原因，從那里得知此工作，例如就業(yè)輔導處 (CareerCenter, Placement Office) 、報紙、朋友、師長；欲應征何種職位，并簡介自己資歷與職位要求相吻合，進而說明工作目標。注意此處所提之工作目標應與履歷表中所列之工作目標一致。例如：
Ms Dorothy Johes from your faculty encouraged me to write you regarding apossible teaching position in North High School when I graduated fromcollege.　This June I will receive the B.A.degree from Indiana University,and I would like to teach in my hometown, Columbus, Ohio. 　�。�、第二段：說明你為何對該工作感興趣，為何你認為你的資歷符合工作要求，并進一步闡述自己之專業(yè)才能、工作經(jīng)驗、所修課程，避免復述履歷表的用語。例：You will see from my resume that I have strongquantitative background:15credits of advanced high school and college mathematics, including basic and
advanced calculus, probability and statistics, and basic accounting,GPA:3.6．(Source: 'Resume Writing,' 'The Cover Letter,' Career ServiceCenter, Princeton University, P19.)
　　ｃ、第三段：指出隨函附寄履歷表供參考，同時說明履歷表中乃記載個人之相關資歷及背景。這段可長可短，或者與前段對照（前段可寫學業(yè)表現(xiàn)），另再舉證工作表現(xiàn)，說明自己的才能乃應征職位之所需。例：
Enclosed is my resume to detail my backgrounds and qualifications.
或?qū)⒏郊囊皇陋毩⒂诮Y(jié)論之首，此段僅進一步說明資歷。總之，務必讓收信人明白履歷表己隨函附寄。
　　(4)結(jié)論：希望收信人收悉后會采取一些有利之行動，如提供面試或電話訪談�；蛘吒�積極主動說明電詢或拜訪之意。
　　例一： I would be happy to meet with you and discuss career opportunities at（公司名）.
　　例二： I would like to discuss career opportunities and my qualificationwith you personally.
　　若有地利之便或時間許可，可能于幾月幾日幾點電詢申請結(jié)果或當面會談。最后可加上客套話如：Thank you for your consideration或 I am looking forward to ourmeeting.
