職信是大學(xué)生步入社會、走向工作崗位的第一步,了解求職信的寫法具有實(shí)際意義。那么,如何用地道流利的英語寫好一份求職信呢?關(guān)鍵要處理好求職信的五個組成部分:寫信動機(jī)、自我介紹、本人能力、結(jié)尾、附件。
一、寫信動機(jī)通常求職信是針對報(bào)紙上招聘廣告而寫的。若此,信中須提到何月何日的報(bào)紙,有時(shí)工作機(jī)會是從朋友或介紹所聽來的,有時(shí)寫信人不知某機(jī)構(gòu)、公司有工作機(jī)會,毛遂自薦。不論哪一種,求職信上一定要說明寫信的緣由和目的。因此首先應(yīng)該表明你是在何家媒體看到應(yīng)聘廣告以及所要應(yīng)聘的職位。參考例句:
1.In reply to your advertisement in today's newspaper,I respectfully offer my services for the situation.拜讀今日XX報(bào)上貴公司的廣告,本人特此備函應(yīng)征該職位。
2.Replying to your advertisement into- day's issue of the(newspaper),I wish to apply for the position in your esteemed firm.拜讀貴公司在今日(報(bào)紙)上廣告,特此備函應(yīng)征貴公司該職位。
3.With reference to your advertisement in(newspaper)of May 2for a clerk,I offer myself for the post.從五月二日XX報(bào)上廣告欄得知貴公司招聘一位職員,我愿應(yīng)招。
4.I wish to apply for the position advertised in the enclosed clipping from the(newspaper)of November 12.謹(jǐn)隨函附上十一月十二日XX報(bào)貴公司招聘廣告,我愿應(yīng)招此職位。

二、自我介紹寫信人應(yīng)述明自己的年齡或出生年月、教育背景,尤其與應(yīng)征職位有關(guān)的訓(xùn)練或教育科目、工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)或特殊技能。如無實(shí)際經(jīng)驗(yàn),略述在學(xué)類似經(jīng)驗(yàn)亦可。參考例句:
1.For the past three years,I have been in the office of the XX Trading Co., where I have been an accountant.本人曾經(jīng)在XX貿(mào)易公司服務(wù)三年,擔(dān)任會計(jì)工作。
2.I am twenty years of age,and have been employed for the last two years by the XX Co.,in the general clerical work of the office.我今年20歲,曾在XX公司服務(wù)兩年,擔(dān)任一般文員工作。
3.I am twenty years of age,and am anxious to settle down to office work.本人20歲,希望能找到一個公司,以便安定下來。
4.Since my graduation from the school two years ago, I have been employed in XX Hotel as a cashier.兩年前離校后,在XX酒店擔(dān)任出納員。
三、本人能力這部分非常重要,因?yàn)檫@體現(xiàn)你究竟能為公司做什么,直接關(guān)系到求職的成功率。但是也要注意一定要用最少的文字表達(dá)最多的意思。參考例句:
1.I am able to take dictation in English and translate it rapidly into Chinese.我會英文的口授筆記,同時(shí)能立即將其翻譯成中文。
2.I have received an English education, and have a slight knowledge of Spanish.I took a Spanish course in college.本人接受英文教育,同時(shí)略通西班牙文。大學(xué)時(shí),我修了西班牙文。
3.I have been at the City Commercial College,where I have acquired a knowledge of English,mathematics and elementary business practice.本人曾在城市商專學(xué)英文、數(shù)學(xué)以及初級商業(yè)實(shí)務(wù)。
4.I have just left school,but have a good knowledge of English.本人雖剛離開校門,但英文很好。

四、結(jié)尾希望并請求未來的雇主允以面談的機(jī)會,因此信中要表明可以面談的時(shí)間。成功的求職信決不是虎頭蛇尾的,結(jié)尾一定要引起重視。參考例句:
1.I should be glad to have a personal in- terview and can furnish references if desired.如獲面試,則感幸甚。如需保證人,本人也可提出。
2.I request an interview,and assure you that if appointed,I will do my best to give you satisfaction.懇請惠予面試之榮。如蒙錄用,本人必竭盡所能,為貴公司服務(wù),以符厚望。

英文求職信應(yīng)注意的問題:
英文求職信的寫法沒有固定格式,但一些細(xì)節(jié)是不能疏忽的。
一、姓名、通訊地址、聯(lián)系電話、電子郵件、網(wǎng)址占據(jù)求職信頂端的中間或靠邊。注意:每條信息之間分隔清晰,網(wǎng)址獨(dú)立成行;為便于掃描,每條信息獨(dú)立成行最好。
二、日期低于聯(lián)系方式兩行,靠右邊;提要低于日期一行,靠左邊。在英文求職信中,日期靠左邊/右邊,提要低于日期兩行,靠右邊。
三、能夠用對方的姓名直呼對方最好,因?yàn)槿藗兌际窍矚g別人稱呼自己的名字。所以,想辦法去弄清楚面試負(fù)責(zé)人的姓名和性別。如果不能,你可以使用“尊敬的雇主”或干脆用“早上好”比起用“尊敬的先生或女士”要親切地多。
四、想盡一切辦法,讓求職信的第一句話就抓住閱讀者,讓他能認(rèn)真地讀你的個人簡歷。使對方感興趣的金科玉律是:從對方的利益出發(fā),為對方的利益服務(wù)。
五、把你的基本技能、成績、以及別人對你以往業(yè)績的評價(jià)介紹給雇主,對你的工作經(jīng)歷加以概括,如:“在某公司擔(dān)任會計(jì)工作期間,取得了如下成績:┄┄”如果你的求職信不包括簡歷,那么長度不應(yīng)超過六段。
六、向?qū)Ψ街轮x,感謝其花時(shí)間閱讀你的求職簡歷、求職自薦書之類的材料,并考慮與你面談;告訴對方你會在某某時(shí)間打電話詢問材料是否安全抵達(dá)和安排時(shí)間面試事宜。即使你打電話問知的結(jié)果不盡如人意,但總比你一直等待一個永遠(yuǎn)不會打來的電話要好。
七、常見的結(jié)束語有“此致、敬禮”、“順頌商安”等。其下是你的簽名,字跡不可潦草模糊。
