　　Now that winter is behind us, many people are starting to think about going abroad for the summer holidays. This year, why not spread your wings and visit France?

　　冬天已經(jīng)過(guò)去，很多人開(kāi)始考慮暑假出國(guó)旅游的事了。今年，為何不遠(yuǎn)行去法國(guó)看看呢?

　　Paris is the capital of France. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. With its world-famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, and its wide, tree-lined streets, Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

　　巴黎是法國(guó)的首都。這是世界上最為著名的旅游景點(diǎn)之一。擁有埃菲爾鐵塔和凱旋門(mén)這樣馳名于世的地標(biāo)性建筑，以及綠樹(shù)成蔭的寬闊街道，巴黎不愧是世界上最美麗的城市之一。

　　If you are taking your children with you, remember that Euro Disney is just an hour away from the centre of Paris, It offers many of the same attractions as the Disney parks in the USA.

　　If you want to go on to visit Britain, you can now do it without flying or taking a ferry. The Channel Tunnel enables you to travel by train from Paris to London in about three hours.

　　The centre of France is a big, agricultural region, growing crops such as wheat and sunflowers, and there are many vineyards. Farmers grow grapes there to make excellent wine. One of the most scenic areas is the Loire Valley, where you can visit the old castles in which the kings and queens of France used to live.

　　France, like China, is famous for its food. In our city, we can see the influence of France in some ways. Some bakeries provide French bread and cakes. Other popular French products are cheese and wine.

　　France is a leader in art and culture too. A lot of young students from different countries go to France to further their studies. Every year, French film festivals, exhibitions and concerts are organized throughout the world.

　　由于冬天已經(jīng)過(guò)去，很多人都開(kāi)始考慮暑假出國(guó)旅游的事了。

　　now that相當(dāng)于since，用于引導(dǎo)原因狀語(yǔ)從句。

　　注意abroad拼寫(xiě)上與aboard的區(qū)別。試比較：go abroad(出國(guó))，go aboard(上車(chē);上船;上飛機(jī))。

　　3. This gear，why not spread your wings and visit France?

　　今年，為何不遠(yuǎn)行去法國(guó)看看呢?

　　why not常常用于提出建議，后直接跟動(dòng)詞原形。如：

　　--Why not have a barbecue this weekend? 這個(gè)周末為何不去燒烤呢?

　　--That's a good idea. 真是個(gè)好主意!

　　句中的spread your wings意為“展開(kāi)翅膀”，、是擬物的用法，spread意為“展開(kāi)”。此外，在6A Unit 9曾學(xué)過(guò)to spread on the bread，spread意為“抹”。
