元旦節(jié)英文介紹

　　In ancient China, Yuan Dan was not on January 1st, as regulated in the Gregorian calendar. The date of Yuan Dan had been changed many times from the 1st of the 12th lunar month in Yin Dynasty to the 1st of the 1st lunar month in Han Dynasty.

　　When Sun Yat-sen took office as the temporary President in Nanjing at the beginning of January of 1912, he set the 1st of the 1st lunar month as the Spring Festival while the 1st of January was set as the New Year, which was also called Yuan Dan.

　　After liberation, the Central Government of China issued a National Festival and Memorial Day Holiday that set January 1st as Yuan Dan, which was a one-day holiday for the whole country.

　　In order to distinguish the two New Years of both the lunar calendar and solar calendar, and as the "spring beginning" of the Lunar Calendar was always around the lunar New Year, the 1st of the 1st lunar month was called the Spring Festival.

　　Yuan means the beginning, the first. The beginning of a number is Yuan. Dan, which is a pictographic character in the Chinese language, means the day rises from the horizon, symbolizing the beginning of a day. When Yuan and Dan are combined, it means the first day of a New Year.

　　Yuan Dan is also called Three Yuan, the beginning of a year, the beginning of a month and the beginning of an hour. The word Yuan Dan was first used during the Three Emperors and Five Sovereigns era.

　　公元1911年，孫中山領導的辛亥革命 ，推翻了滿清的統(tǒng)治，建立了中華民國。各省都督代表在南京開會，決定使用公歷，把農歷的正月初一叫做“春節(jié)”，把公歷的1月1日叫做“元旦”。

　　新中國成立后，中國出臺了關于全國假日和戰(zhàn)爭紀念日的放假規(guī)定時，定1月1號為元旦，全國放假一天。

　　為了區(qū)別農歷和陽歷的兩個新年有鑒于農歷二十四節(jié)氣中的“立春”恰在農歷新年的前后，因此便把農歷正月初一改稱為“春節(jié)”。

　　“元”意為開始，第一，數字的第一個稱元。“旦”在中國文字里是象形文字，其意思為太陽從地平線上圣騎，意為一天的開始。當“元”和“旦”相結合，意思就成了一年開始得第一天。

　　元旦又稱“三元”，即歲之元、月之元、時之元。 元旦最早可以追溯到“ 三皇五帝時期”( “三皇”指天皇、地皇、人皇。“五帝”指木帝、火帝、土帝、金帝和水帝。 )

　　元旦一詞始于三皇五帝，唐房玄齡等人寫的《晉書》上載，把正月稱為元，初一為旦。

　　【元旦的含義】

　　“元”有始之意，“旦”指天明的時間，也通指白天。元旦，便是一年開始的第一天。“元旦”一詞，最早出自南朝人蕭子云《介雅》詩：“四氣新元旦，萬壽初今朝。”宋代吳自牧《夢梁錄》卷一“正月”條目：“正月朔日，謂之元旦，俗呼為新年。一歲節(jié)序，此為之首。”;漢代崔瑗《三子釵銘》中叫“元正”;晉代庾闡《揚都賦》中稱作“元辰”;北齊時的.一篇《元會大享歌皇夏辭》中呼為"元春";唐德宗李適《元日退朝觀軍仗歸營》詩中謂之"元朔"。歷來元旦指的是夏歷(農歷、陰歷)正月初一。在漢語各地方言中有不同叫法，有叫"大年初一"的，有叫"大天初一"的，有叫“年初一”的，一般又叫“正月初一”。

　　我國歷代元旦的月日并不一致。夏代在正月初一，商代在十二月初一，周代在十一月初一，秦始皇統(tǒng)一六國后又以十月初一日為元旦，自此歷代相沿未改(《史記》)。漢武帝太初元年時，司馬遷創(chuàng)立了"太初歷"，這才又以正月初一為元旦,和夏代規(guī)定一樣，所以又稱"夏歷"，一直沿用到辛亥革命。中華民國建立，孫中山為了"行夏正"，所以順農時;從西歷所以便統(tǒng)計"，定正月初一(元旦)為春節(jié)，而以西歷1月1日為新年。

　　在當代，元旦指公元紀年的歲首第一天。自西歷傳入我國以后，元旦一詞便專用于新年，傳統(tǒng)的舊歷年則稱春節(jié)。

　　而在此之前，元旦一直是指農歷歲首第一天的。元是“初”“始”的意思，旦指“日子”，元旦合稱即是“初始的日子”，也就是一年的第一天。

　　1949年9月27日，中國人民政治協(xié)商會議第一界全體會議決議：“中華人民共和國紀年采用公元紀年法”，即是我們所說的陽歷，為了區(qū)別農歷和陽歷兩個新年，又鑒于農歷二十四節(jié)氣中的“立春”恰在農歷新年的前后，因此便把農歷正月初一改稱為“春節(jié)”，陽歷一月一日定為“元旦”，至此，元旦才成為全國人民的歡樂節(jié)日。

　　慶賀新年的開始，歡度元旦可說是世界各國各地區(qū)的普遍習俗。

　　在我國，還列入了法定假日。我國和世界上大多數國家、地區(qū)采用公歷紀年法，把1月1日定為新年的開始，稱作“元旦”。

　　由于世界各國所處的經度位置不同，各國的時間也不同，因此，“元旦”的日期也有不同。如大洋洲的島國湯加位于日界線的西側，它是世界上最先開始的一天的地方，也是最先慶祝元旦的國家。而位于日界線東側的西薩摩亞則是世界上最遲開始新的一天的地方。按公歷計，我國是世界上第12個開始新年的國家。
