　　格林威治村的萬圣節(jié)巡游﹝Greenwich Village Halloween Parade﹞始于1973年，由一位面具工匠兼木偶演員Mr Ralph Lee發(fā)起，據(jù)說最初他帶著朋友和孩童一起在鄰居處游行，后來漸漸演變成整個村的大型活動，而活動中當然少不了大型木偶表演，同時，巡行的目的更希望每一個人都是參與者而不是旁觀者，所以即使人們只是抱著想看熱鬧的心態(tài)，當你踏進村子里，很快便會被邀請參與巡行，成為他們的一份子。

　　紐約市的萬圣節(jié)巡游每年都吸引成千上萬的紐約人和游客參加，而巡游會在格林威治村﹝Greenwich Village﹞舉行，各隊伍約在夜晚上七時從第六大道與春天街交界﹝6th Avenue & Spring Street﹞起步，一直游行至第二十三街﹝6th Avenue & 23rdStreet﹞為止，全程大概多個小時。

　　無論是來自亞洲，南美，非洲，歐洲，以至中東地區(qū)的參觀者，都可以把自己裝扮成各式各樣的人物，亦可帶備簡單樂器，即時演奏本土的獨特音樂，融合無疆界的`風土文化�？赡芪乙郧皬奈磪⒓舆^萬圣節(jié)的活動，更莫說這么精彩的巡游，所以特別覺得有新鮮感。

　　早于十月中，曼哈頓市已開始“鬧鬼”了，在繁忙的街道上，已看見四處懸掛起萬圣節(jié)的鬼怪裝飾，很多百貨公司也忙著把應節(jié)禮品及衣物堆放在櫥窗里，吸引不少途人駐足觀看，而超級市場及街市亦擺放大大小小的南瓜售賣，供市民買回家布置家園或制作南瓜燈之用，當然嘛，也有主婦烹煮南瓜作菜肴或糕餅，完全依足節(jié)慶傳統(tǒng)。
