1.grant vt. 授予，同意，準予
take for granted是固定表達，為習(xí)慣用語，指“將...看作理所當(dāng)然”，如to take nothing for granted(不把任何事物看作是理所應(yīng)當(dāng)?shù)?。 take sth for granted不可接賓語從句，一定要接時，需在take后加it作形式賓語。
We took it for granted that you knew the whole matter.

2.grand adj. 宏偉的，壯麗的，重大的
詞義辨析：big, large, great, grand
big 常用詞，使用廣泛，較口語化。多指體積、重量或容量等方面的“大”，有時也用于描寫抽象之物。
