Throughout most of Chinas long history, the relationships between people were based on carefully prescribed forms of behavior, that is,etiquette.Learning and following etiquette is so important that people are always judged by how closely they follow these rules of behaviors. For those who do not follow those prescribed rules of conduct, they are regarded as uncivilized barbarians.
However,as China has been increasingly entangled in the global village, many Chinese people, especially the young, have lost some traditions because of the influences of Western cultures.According to a famous professor, the majority of Chinese college students have not had systematic training on traditional Chinese etiquette. As for me, traditional etiquette should be taught in class.
Firstly, if college students can receive a systematic education in traditional etiquette in class, they can get more prepared for the future. As is known, college students usually have learnt some traditional etiquette through daily interaction with friends and relatives, but the process is time-consuming. They have to be sensitive enough to observe other peoples behaviors and then know what proper behaviors in different social situations are. Some times the learning process is by trial and error. They can only form right behaviors after breaking the rules of conduct and being corrected by the costly consequence. If they have already taken a systematic etiquette course in college, they can follow proper etiquette and have a more guaranteed future.
Secondly, as these meticulous rules of conduct have been formed throughout Chinese history, they are unique Chinese characteristics and are inseparable to Chinese culture. With the advent of globalization ,western culture is so influential that many young people often look to Western customs and etiquette as being fashionable. For example, nowadays most young women in China would like to wear western-style white dresses and veils at wedding while traditional Chinese weddings feature red gowns for brides and white is an absolute taboo. In the long term,if the trend to adopt western etiquette can not be curbed, the Chinese generations in the future will lose their cultural identity.
Furthermore, the extinction of Chinese etiquette will be to the detriment of the diversity of global culture. To some extent, the course can serve to arouse college students cultural pride and help to preserve and further develop Chinese culture. In conclusion, taking traditional Chinese etiquette in college will not only make graduates more prepared for their future, but also can constitute an important measure for college students to form Chinese cultural identity and therefore to preserve Chinese tradition and further develop it.
As people respond to incentives, they will change their behaviors if they perceive that costs or benefits change. This principle seems to find wide application in our daily lives. When college graduates learn that receiving a master degree will give them an upper hand in the job market, many decide to take part in post-graduate entrance examinations. In China, it is regarded as following suit. Though we admire those who pride themselves on sticking to their ideals and principles, odds may not be against those who follow suit.Generally speaking, there are both advantages and disadvantages of following suit.
Firstly, following suit is indicative of the fact that followers have no indispensable beliefs or fixed principles and hence they are flexible in the vicissitudes of lives. When the social context changes and opportunities arise, those followers are the first to respond and make decisions.Take the English training service for example. In early 1990s, increasing number of college graduates decided to study overseas and hence English training service was in large demand.Given that forerunners had make a fortune by providing training programs to those graduates, many businessmen just followed suit and established several training schools. Undoubtedly, those who followed suit when the market did not reach saturation did make money.
Secondly, it is noteworthy that following suit can avoid making mistakes. For those forerunners, there is no previous information at their hand, and therefore, it will take a longtime to learn and improve by trial and error. During the period of trial and error, forerunners will encounter unexpected difficulties and pressures. As a result, when those become successful in certain domains, they have proved that the path will lead to success, providing both pros and cons. On the contrary, followers need not experience the process of trial and error. They can just imitate their forerunners proven pattern of behaviors and have easier access to success. There are also some disadvantages of following suit. When there are so many followers, the world will become crowded and odds are against those later followers.
Furthermore, following suit prevents innovation and creation, which is to the detriment of our society. However, whether one should follow suit or not is not simply a to-be-or-not-to-be question. A basic assumption of individual person is that everyone is rational. So one should carefully calculate costs and benefits in specific circumstances before they decide to follow suit or not.

On the Dragon Boat Festival, eating delicious dumplings. I asked my mother with great interest, "is there any special history of this festival?" My mother held my hand and said, "this is a touching story."
The happy Dragon Boat Festival two thousand years ago, the doctor of the state of chu was very patriotic, but the king did not listen to his advice, but exiled him to a long distance. In 278, the state of chu was occupied by the qin army. Qu yuan heard this, but he could not bear to abandon his country. On the fifth day of may, he put a stone into the river and wrote a song of "patriotic love" with his own life. For thousands of years, people have commemorated him, studied him, and called the fifth day of may "Dragon Boat Festival".
Mom started making zongzi again. The main ingredients of zongzi are glutinous rice and bamboo leaves. I saw my mother first take two pieces of bamboo and roll them into a cone, then put them into glutinous rice and then seal them. The body green oil of glutinous rice is like a green gold tower, watching makes people drool.
There are many traditional cultural festivals in our life, which let us know that our motherland has a long history and profound culture.

At noon today, I as usual on the way from school, I have been thinking about at noon to eat what rice, suddenly picked up, mom and dad will be driving I drive to the direction of the direction is not home, I wonder of ask: "barbie, let's go to?" "Let's go and get together with another old classmate of mine," he said. I thought, "what can I do?" Suddenly I thought of the etiquette on the table that our school played at noon every day. Into the farmhouse we saw dad classmates are waved to us, as we walked on, under the guidance of his we walk into a room, there are four people, because of being so there must be a person to stand up, I stood up, and without hesitation and said: "the kids leg soft, should give more station." Everyone laughed, and I laughed too. Such as food, staple food all together after, we began to eat, I found my mother did not move chopsticks, I think "mom why don't you eat? Oh -- -- -- -- -- - yes, at the dinner table to older people to clip a geometric her, can eat." Thought of here I picked up the chopsticks hand back again, in order not to make the scene embarrassed I took with relish the drinking cups, everyone eat later, I began to eat, is an aunt sit beside me, to show politeness, every time I eat food before we give him or other people once again after to himself; Every time a cup of tea I will see if someone else's cup is water, if not I will give him and then pour yourself...... all this I did not care about, but the opposite uncle, said: "the child is really understand, there is a kind of gentleman poise." I smiled and said, "nothing. It's all for every child." To tell the truth, I said it but it was pretty good. My mother seemed to be complimented because I was the one who brought it up, so she always had a smile on her face. This meal not only let me eat the taste, more let me eat a person's basic principle. Etiquette has no size, although is to ask a sound good, but not etiquette is very terrible, so I hope that everybody will have etiquette, in this way can our society become more peaceful, more harmonious.

Blurbs; the difference is a lot of Western table manners. As far as I know there are some to share with you the following: when you have Western food, many people are worried about "rude". In fact, the so-called table manners to make meals without obstacles and destruction, and to facilitate the smooth flow of usable code. Remember the "neat, clean, quiet and" three principles will be no detriment. 1. When you are invited to dinner, you who sit at dining and dinner table conversation, probably more than the food to be more interested in.eating, should as far as possible, less noise and less action. 2. the hostess when you take your napkin, you also can pick up your napkins, place it on the leg.sometimes napkin Pack a small bread; if so, take it, put it on the small dishes next to it. 3. napkin if is large, DRAG and drop on the leg if very small, all of the open. Never on a napkin on the collar or vest, not in the hands of rubbing. On the corner wipe your mouth with a napkin or grease or dirt on the finger.be sure not to use it to clean the knife and fork or dishes. 4. dinner usually starts with soup. In front of you in one of the biggest spoon is a spoon, it's on your right next to the plate.do not mistake the spoon used in the middle of the table, because that could be taken to jam with vegetables. 5. in the hostess picks up before her spoon or fork, guests shall not eat any dish. Towel, put it on the leg.sometimes napkin Pack a small bread; if so, take it, put it on the small dishes next to it.
There are a lot of the same place between table manners in modern China and ancient times. But in some small places it has changed because of western influence. The seating order is the same as western dinner etiquette, the first chief guest sit right to the host, the other guest sit in the host’s left or right of the first chief guest. Depends on the specific situation it is flexible. The host should servemealstart from the guests on the right, the first is chief guestserve, than the host, first female guest, after the gentlemen.Tea is not the same important as before.People sometimes use other drinks like wine instead of tea. Wine glass can’t be poured too full. It still maintaining the traditional order of food, serve cold food than the hot food, at last, there are desert and fruit. If there are whole chicken, duck, fish and other plastic dishes, the head of them should nottail toward the chief guest. These programs can not only make the whole process of a harmonious and orderly, but also make the identity of host and guest clearly and easy for emotional expression and communication. Therefore, the table manners can make feasts activities successfully.
