設(shè)身處地為他人多想想

陳豪在北京的ABC美國(guó)公司工作，他從復(fù)印機(jī)房出來，正好遇到美國(guó)同事Amy.

(Office ambience)

A：Hi Chen Hao. How are you today?
C：出于禮貌，我也許應(yīng)該說I am fine. 但實(shí)際上我正在氣頭上呢。

A：What's wrong?
C：馬上要開會(huì)，我來復(fù)印一些資料，結(jié)果復(fù)印紙一張都沒了，也不知道誰用完的，也不續(xù)上。

A：That happens all too often, and it is aggravating - especially when you are short on time, which I guess you are.
C：不僅如此，復(fù)印室里亂七八糟，剪刀、訂書機(jī)，什么都找不到，地上還到處都是紙。

A：This might be a good subject to bring up at our next team meeting. It's hard to work together successfully if we aren't considerate of one another.
C：要說在辦公室里只顧自己不顧別人的事情，我能說出一籮筐。

A：I bet we all could, but I would like to see you propose what actions people could take to create harmony and facilitate a good working environment.
C：你說的沒錯(cuò)，光抱怨沒用，得提出些積極的建議。我得趕緊去把這些資料印了，馬上要開會(huì)了。一會(huì)兒午飯時(shí)見。

陳豪中午跟Amy一起吃飯。

A：So Chen Hao tell me what other issues are on your mind.
C：我覺得辦公室里有些人做事從來不考慮別人。在我前面最后一個(gè)用復(fù)印機(jī)的人肯定是因?yàn)檗k公室里紙都用光了，所以才沒有把紙加滿。

A：It shouldn't matter how urgent your project is, the considerate thing is to let someone know about the problem even if you don't have the time or ability to solve it.
C：對(duì)呀，沒時(shí)間起碼可以通知辦公室主管，找別人把紙加上。還有啊，用完了剪刀和訂書機(jī)，應(yīng)該馬上放回原處。

A：You are right. It's everyone's job to clean up after themselves and put things back where they belong.
C：另外還有，不管是誰用完復(fù)印機(jī)，都應(yīng)該將復(fù)印機(jī)的設(shè)置復(fù)原。這樣能省別人很多麻煩。這點(diǎn)要求不過份吧？

A：Not at all. You are learning by experience the steps you can take to make your co-workers' jobs easier and more productive. Everyone benefits when we work together.
C：那你說，下次辦公室開會(huì)，我們都要提出哪些建議呢？

A：We should ask to have time on the agenda for discussing copy room issues. The three most important would be

(1) refill the paper tray when you finish a job;
(2) if there is no more paper, let the appropriate person know; and
(3) put things back where they belong.
