Some advice about entry level job interview
Communication is really a big deal in the job interview, especially for
international students.
We recieved a bunch of resumes for an entry level analyst position and only
interviewed two of them. These two candidates have very different
qualifications. One grew up in the State, and is strong in English but weak
in Exam. She passed exam P recently but failed twice. Another one is strong
in Exam and technical skills but weak in English. It is hard to choose from
these two. Considering the one with proficient English is more easier to be
trained and communicated, my supervisor chose her eventually.
I know that language proficiency can not be improved in a shor time. But in
the interview, you still can make it up by choosing easy-to-understand
examples, using simple and short sentence, and avoiding those lengthy and
difficult to discribe stories.
Hopefully, it can offer some help.
