據(jù)國外媒體報道,蘋果公司的iPad在英國碰到了一位大買家,那就是巴克萊銀行。有消息稱,巴克萊銀行將一次性購置8500臺iPad,以配發(fā)給員工以提升服務質(zhì)量。
巴克萊銀行的發(fā)言人表示iPad能夠讓員工更好地為銀行客戶服務,還能協(xié)助分公司同事與客戶溝通。該發(fā)言人表示,巴克萊是在調(diào)查了市場上很多的平板電腦之后才決定購買iPad的,因為iPad能夠最大限度地滿足他們的特殊需求,現(xiàn)在巴克萊的各個分公司已經(jīng)開始使用iPad了。
就在前不久微軟發(fā)布了最新的Windows 8操作系統(tǒng),有分析人士認為Windows 8平臺更適合企業(yè)用戶,而且界面更加友好,支持USB設備及其他外圍設備。前幾天阿聯(lián)酋航空公司在為空姐配備平板電腦時選購了1000臺惠普ElitePad 900。但是這次巴克萊銀行的選擇和阿聯(lián)酋航空公司不同,巴克萊選擇了蘋果,而且一次性購置了8500臺之多。
巴克萊購置iPad主要是想使用一個名為“Mortgage Brain”的應用程序,該程序是由蘇格蘭皇家銀行、維爾京理財、巴克萊銀行、桑坦德銀行、勞埃德銀行和全英銀行(Nationwide)六家金融機構共同開發(fā)的,并且該程序歸這的六家機構共同擁有。
現(xiàn)在尚不清楚的是巴克萊將會選擇哪款iPad,即便是最便宜的mini iPad,巴克萊也需要支付200萬英鎊以上(基于標準零售價)。但是,巴克萊一般會通過交易商Insight UK購買蘋果設備,而且往往可以享受優(yōu)惠。獨立的IT供應商表示:現(xiàn)在越來越多大型企業(yè)開始對蘋果iPad感興趣。
